Santos got a good view of the soon-to-be-leader-of-America as he "hopped on the machine next to me and broke a mean sweat while reading a copy of USA Today and listening to his Zune".
Fixed.
"Free World" was apt considering the US's enormous influence on global affairs (both economically and militarily). Even if it is declining it is significant.

Although "soon-to-be-most-powerful-man-on-Earth" might be better yet.

And although I prefer Zunes to iPods I really don't care which Obama uses. But the rabid Apple fans do, morons.
You mean 'Soon to be most powerful man on earth 10 years ago". You know, back before we were drowning in debt, locked in two "police action" style wars, universally hated (i'll admit we were hated, but not so...unanimously) and our biggest concern was the president getting a hummer in the oval office.
The US has been pretty much drowning in debt since its formation (there was a brief period when we were almost out of debt, then the War of 1812 happened), and wouldn't ten years ago be approximately during the Gulf War?

Sweet Jesus on a flaming stick! Is this news? Is this important? Why is this news? Why is this important?

Hey, I want to know what sort of toilet paper he uses and if he squeezes the toothpaste tube from the back or the front.

God damn it, people and their celebrity fix...

If one zune was too cost £99, but little Timmy had just £98, how much would he have to get to buy his zune?

Well, maybe this is a game magazine and Obama went on record about games-playing (the Pong President) and the Zune (v3) has some reasonably-nice time-wasters on it.

(Hexic is as addictive on it as on any other platform, the Checkers AI kicks my ass but the AI in Texas Hold'em is of the "pants on head" variety, there's a space shmup I haven't tried out yet and another game whose identity eludes me at the moment.)
