Hey everybody, I was wondering what games you guys have gotten for 30 bucks or less? I was inspired by another thread on here where one of our fellow escapists attempted to let people know why would someone buy Alone In the Dark:Inferno for 50bucks whereas they can get the Xbox 360 or PC versions for 17 bucks.

This got me thinking that we can help each other out with our gaming purchases now. Whether its on Amazon.com or at Bestbuy or even at Gamestop, do you have any secrets to your video game purchases? Once again, 30 bucks or less(I'm not sure how much that is in other currencies), what game, and where you can get it!

Steam has some really awsome deals pretty often. Mount & Blade just got 75% off, It just went from $29 to $7.50. I buy something off of impulse every-other time they have a sale.
Edit:
Games I've gotten for $30 or less:
-Crysis:Warhead-$29.99(plus the $600 in parts to upgrade my piece-O'-shit PC)
-Half Life-$.75
-Audiosurf-$4.25
-Stalker:shadow of chernobal-$5
-Team Fortress 2-$15
-CounterStrike:Source-$19.99

If it's a game you're vaguely interested in but not really, wait until the price goes down a bunch. I was lucky and got my PS2 when a lot of the good games were out already, so I managed to get Final Fantasy X for $7, Shadow of the Colossus for $15, God of War for $20...all from Gamestop.

I second the Steam thing, so many ridiculously good deals, that come out every weekend, and there good games more often then half the time. I'm considering Mount and Blade myself, and I'm very impressed at how DoW: Soulstorm is 7.50, and allows access to the DoW 2 Multiplayer beta. Lets see, I got Unreal Tournament 3 for 10 bucks, Convinced a friend to get Bioshock for 5, got Clive Barkers Jerico for around 8 (Im optimistic, in spite of reviews) Doom 1 and 2, Opposing Force and Blue Shift for a buck a piece, Doom 3 and the expansion for 15 bucks, the first 3 Prince of Persias for 10 bucks each, And tried to convince a few friends to get Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 with me for 10 bucks. I realize now that there's just too many awesome Steam deals that have been offered to name them all. A buddy of mine found Enemy Territory Quake Wars and LotR Online at a Big Lots for 6 bucks, and now swears by Big Lots for cheap games. And I remember getting the PC version of Final Fantasy VII for 10 bucks at a Kay Bees Toys. And Bargain Bins at any gaming store are always good places to find excellent games that are a few years old. Although, it is rapidly becoming easier to just check out www.gog.com. Bargain Hunting on the PC is a lot easier, I don't buy Console games often, but im sure that Amazon has some good deals.

Well I just did some scavenging on Amazon.com and I found Quake 4 for 15 bucks and Burnout Paradise for 20 dollars. I have Quake 4 on the PC already, so that one is for all of you fellas, and Burnout was a game I was interested in, but wasn't willing to shell out the full 60 bucks for. Now I can finally feel good about getting it! =D

You can't imagine how much I died inside when Half Life was a dollar...
I really need to hook my pocket change up to the internet.

I got a used copy of The Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones for the Xbox the other day for $5, plus tax. And I also saw Beyond Good and Evil at the same Gamestop for $2. Next time I have some pocket change I'm going to go get it.

And Steam is really great for older games. I got the first two Oddworld games for $15.

I've gotten a ton of games for under $30, especially with Steam sales.

UK people, check your local 'Martin's' newsagent! They're clearing house on their games sections it appears! Tho I've already asset stripped the Reigate branch :D

Went into my local 'Martins's newsagent in the UK, picked up Flatout, a Call of Duty, a Medal of Honour, and 2 copies of Warhammer - Dawn of war (I think) as I figured I can give one to a mate and play em online, all for £1 each, also had a range of ps2 games for £1 each too, got Viewtiful Joe, Obscure, and ... something else I forget, but even for a pound I didn't want the various FIFAs and Pro Evos, when my local preowned area of Game has racks of them for 50p and can't move em.

My receipt was a joy to see, was like:

SUBTOTAL - £178.93
DISCOUNT - £171.93
TOTAL - £ 7.00

Same went for when we got soo far behind in our price cuts in the games section when working at MVC, because our manager felt games weren't important compared to the music and dvd areas.

Eventually we did it, and found we had dozens of old games down to 99p, 49p and 1p, just to get them off the system, I left with about 15 games, total about £400, and I paid under a fiver for the lot.

It had got to the point where we were scavenging the faulty box for cheap stuff "Faulty - box cracked? screw that, restock it and I'll buy it for 1p!" We'd already missed deadlines to return gear anyway, so it was 1p more than they woulda got and it cleaned up the database a bit :D

Needless to say a fair amount went straight over to GAME as trade ins against new stuff!

I remember buying Perfect Dark Zero for £5, now that was a bargain. It was a pretty good game that was funt to play with friends. However, recently the melee attacks have driven me off this game.

buying used is my normal MO, unless its a game I've been really looking forward to, i never buy at full price. Its mostly because I think there are allot of lousy games out there and I would rather blow 20 bucks on them than 60. I bought dead rising recently and I think that 20 was still too much.
