It's one of my favorite recent games too. And one that I've actually finished. After that, I immediately began playing it again with Game+.
The narrator was great. The art style was enjoyable, especially how the levels built up as you trod onwards. Gameplay was excellent and the difficulty was spot on (especially as you could choose the icons to make the challenge more interesting). The soundtrack is one of the best. It's the only soundtrack I have properly listened to, in addition to that of Civilization V (and Rise of Nations to an extent).
And after getting my hands on Diablo III, it reminded me of Bastion on so many ways. Changing the 'runes' for weapons/skills to change how they act. Collecting shards throughout the game in Bastion, and collecting the sword shards of Tyrael in D3. The Stranger, and so on.
Breaker's Bow was my absolute favorite. Had that most of the game. Went for the powerful, rather than the quick path on runes. I changed the other one more frequently, but the Spear (Brusher's Pike) comes to mind as one of the most trusted of 'em. Dual Pistols too.
