Good. He shouldn't have been in Origins either, in my opinion. The plot would have been fine if they had simply just did Black Mask, along with giving Deathstroke more screen time. No twist was needed.
You have to admit though, it was a VERY good twist and was very well done. Which is why i didn't mind it, it didn't feel cheap, or tacky. For me anyway it was a complete shock.

Anyway this is good, let one of the other villains be the main threat for a change, my money is on Scarecrow.
Oh yeah, no doubt it was a fun twist. A tad predictable for me. I'm just tired of the Joker, is all. Batman has other villains that are just as interesting and influential.

Don't really care who the Villains are at this stage TBH.
what I want is for this game to finally introduce Cassandra Cain.

make it happen Rocksteady.

Funny how it's news to learn a dead character WON'T be somehow brought back to life in a contrived manner. Shouldn't this really be something we assume in the first place?

Honestly, good. To bring him back would cheapen everything that happened at the end of City, and it would also undercut Mark Hamill's performance. He said that that would be his last performance as The Joker, and I feel Rockstar wanted to make the game as a tribute to him for that. To bring the Joker back in a sequel would ruin that feeling.
I agree with the sentiment, but by the sound of it he was in Arkham Origins already anyway, I know it's technically a prequel but it still kinda undermines the spirit of him leaving and unless he had zero dialogue he must have been voiced by someone who isn't Mark Hamill.
Very true, and I'll admit that they guy did an excellent job. The only reason I accepted this though wasn't because it was a prequel, but because they game was made by a different company. And because of that, we saw that that company wasn't willing to take risks and try to make a story without The Joker and, to me at least, it suffered because of it.

Playing a bit to much GTA, perhaps? :p

Besides that little correction, I agree with your post. Personally I really enjoyed the story behind Arkham City, and I'm glad that my (and many others') theory was correct in that Rocksteady was just taking a break from the Arkham series to go
make another game - which is why we got a prequel in Origins - but now they're back at the helm to give us the sequel to City.

And yeah, considering the ending to City, it's absolutely impossible to bring Joker back for a sequel without just utterly shattering the entire point of the story behind City. It ruins Batman's story, the game's story, and even the Harley's Revenge DLC's story.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what they intend to do with Scarecrow in this new game. And yes, I'm about 99.9% positive (as positive as I can be without knowing for absolute certain) that Scarecrow is going to be in the next game - perhaps even as the main villain - because of all the Scarecrow easter eggs in Arkham City.

Seriously, how the hell are you supposed to decode that last one without someone specifically telling you how to do it? It's frickin' triple-ciphered!

The piece of paper at the end is an invoice made out to Dr. Crane, in case you can't tell. :p
The shame I feel...fixed it, but left the original to see if anyone else catches it. That's what I get for typing late at night I suppose.
And yeah, Scarecrow will certainly be in the next game. A lot of people say that that is him you hear talking at the beginning of the trailer. The only thing that I can't wrap my head around is him being the big boss. It just doesn't seem like something Scarecrow could do. He's always struck me as the little guy, the one who doesn't have big, grand plans, but is just going after Batman and others because that's what he does. Although that secret room does show that he is capable of pulling off a long-term scheme, so we'll see.

I don't know, in Asylum he was 2 seconds away from releasing his fear toxin into Gotham's water supply, that seems like a pretty grand plan if you ask me. And in those coded messages he promises that "Fear will tear Gotham to shreds".

To be honest, I do doubt that he'll be the main baddy (which is why I said "perhaps" :p). It's just a loose theory because of the easter eggs that I posted. It's pretty well known that most people say he was the best part of Asylum, so I wouldn't be surprised if he had a bigger role in Knight.

*watches the trailer for the first time*

You know now I'm thinking he really might be the big baddy. The voice-over at the beginning does specifically say "I will unleash your greatest fears" and the most prominent henchmen in the trailer - the guys in the yellow jackets - seem to be wearing gas masks like the one that Scarecrow was wearing in Asylum, and their yellow jackets have what looks like a skull on the back of it. Wasn't that what was stamped on all the Scarecrow gas containers you find in Asylum?

Edit:
And now that I think about it, with the fact that Ra's body mysteriously disappears at the end of City, save for his sword which has been stuck in the road, I'm wondering if they might try to go with something similar to the plot of Batman Begins and have Ra's backing Scarecrow. Ra's wants to destroy the whole city, and Scarecrow is one of the few villains that would be capable of pulling off such a massive undertaking. I mean you think about people like Two-Face and Penguin and they're just glorified gang leaders. Off the top of my head the only villains I can think of with the power to attack the entire city at once would be Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, Joker (we all know he's not going to be the one behind this :p), and perhaps Mr. Freeze (but with the plot apparently focusing around all the villains teaming up to get back at Batman, I can't imagine Mr. Freeze would join up with them considering the fact that Batman saves his wife in Arkham City).

So yeah, I'm hoping they'd come up with an original story, but I honestly wouldn't be that surprised if they borrowed some of the plot from Batman Begins and have Ra's backing Scarecrow to tear down the city.

So Hush and Scarecrow are the main known villain's and the Arkham Knight is being guessed to be either Prometheus or Azrael.
Just looking at the gear descriptions for Prometheus it would seem likely that he is the main villain. Which would be cool
