I know you`d think they`d invest more insecurity (insecturity, lol) given the amount of criminals who repeatedly esacape seemingly within 5 minutes of arriving half the time
Well, government cutbacks, dontcha know. And at least most of the villains hang around long enough for Batman to duke it out with some other baddy before breaking out themselves. Don't wanna overwork the poor guy.
Didn`t think of it like that how very gentlemanly of the villans to behave like that

Haven't paid it much attention, I'm somewhat sceptical to hype. Fable 2 made it so.

I've seen the combat video diary, and it looks interesting if nothing else. I'll have to try it before I make a decision on it =)

I've seen most of the trailers now, and at first i was very excited, however i'm really not gonna keep my hopes up. The combat doesn't seem very interesting, and i'm not sure about the stealth elements. And Most Batman games as you probably know have a history of being pants (BB was alright, not that good). However at least they got Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy for the voice acting.

Actually, in Alan Moore's The Killing Joke, Gordon actually has a bit where he talks about how he's sick of throwing the Joker in there and praying that he doesn't kill too many people the next time he escapes.

Yeah somewhere around that time. And I JUST heared about Ivy, and now I'm even more hyped.
Haven't you heard? It's been delayed until the fourth quarter of '09.
Unless my info is wrong.
A few more months in development probably won't hurt it, anyway.
What! Oh man why does this keep happening?! Everything I most hyped for gets pushed back. First Harry Potter HBP and now this?
Would you rather them rush it out the door then have to wait til the 4th quarter of 09 for them to patch it?

Makes you wonder why they don't give him the chair.
I feel as though that'd give him the last laugh.

Lethal injection wouldn't.
I dunno...he's a pretty giggly guy. There's also the whole undeniable insanity defense factor.

Kind of disappointed that they sexed-up Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy to such an extent.

Sure, they're supposed to be seductive, but at some point "seductive" crosses the line into "slutty".

He's insane so that would be illegal.

I heard the demo was awful. Don't get too excited, gentlemen.

Edit: I guess I need to annotate that. I love Batman. He's been my hero since I was five. However, I have yet to play a game about him that is anything close to good. So... yeah.
MKVSDC was actually half-decent. It was the best game from either franchise in a decade.

I think Arkham Asylum looks pretty good. I don't have money for games these days, so I can't afford to get too hyped over it, or I'll get really disappointed when it comes out, but it looks pretty good..

When I was playing through Assassin's Creed, I liked to pretend I was batman... Take Assassin's Creed, change the setting to Gotham, make it nighttime, and remove (or make more interesting) the little side missions, and you'd have a pretty decent batman game IMO.
You miss my point. I'm not saying that a Batman-themed game would be bad, I am simply saying that, in the past, execution of said idea has been more difficult than initially expected. Also, when I said a Batman game, I meant one that was centered around him, not one that featured him (e.g. MK vs DC).

On your idea, you are correct about the application of Batman over AC, but the only thing truly wrong with the side-missions is that there was no real variance, and the voice-actors had about a dozen lines to share. If they had tripled that number, or varied the missions, they would have been a joy instead of a chore.

He always get off with an insanity plea. Also, judges and juries willing to convict him always end up dieing humorously.

Well I'd rather wait obviously. But if your not certain if its FULLY finished, why tell people your gonna release it at a certain date? Now Harry Potter ATHBP is a different story, they have finished it fully, but decided to move it from October to July to make it a summer hit so more people will go see it, which is the DUMBEST THING I have EVER heared. Yeah like HP fans are gonna go and say, "Oh no HP being released in October and it'll be slightly cold if we go see it. Oh I'll just wait until the summer or not see it at all." As if people NEVER go see films because it's a bit cold.

How stupid are these people who decide these things?

Well they could be hanging onto it for the X-Mas rush but I don't see why they would. They could release it in August where there is nothing coming so they have no competition or go up against the established franchises during the holidays. I think the publishers gave them a break and said "hey make it as perfect as you can, we can wait cuz we love Batman too."

Hopeless optimist I know.

Considering Batman is my favorite traditional superhero, I do hope this plays as good as it looks, because it does indeed look promising. However, I don't expect it to play well, mainly because I'd rather not have my expectations crushed by false assumptions of quality.
