Pretty much what it says in the title. It may not be YouTube, but the trailer can be seen at the link below.

And it's pretty much as dark and gritty and SERIOUS as they've always made their movies. I'll be honest, my interest in this is waning... though the fact it doesn't tell me much doesn't help.

First thoughts is I'm still more excited for Civil War and it hasn't even got a trailer yet.
Yeah pretty much. But I didn't like Man of Steel maybe if you liked Man of Steel this will really get you going, but it's doing nothing for me.

I suppose it's good that it's leaving intrigue, I do want to know why the people have turned on Superman given that he literally saved the world last time 'round.

Oh I bet it's going to be over the people that died, sigh.

Yawn, I'm bored with the grim and dark theme from DC comic films. Sure it still kinda cool but Avengers 2 and Ant-man got my hyped up the most!

So far, the only thing I'm liking is the way Batman sounds, instead of gravel, we get what sounds like voice-modulation.

Is funny right? How DC is trying to get a "serious stuff" vibe, and Marvel is hyping people with a movie about a guy that can control ANTS!

Though is clear that they want to bring that Dark Knight atmosphere. And I'm curious, to say the least. And I really want it to succeed , having both DC and Marvel producing great movies would be awesome, only good things would come out of it. Until too much people decide to go aboard the money train and start making weird ass comic movies and ruin everything, but BEFORE THAT, it would be great!

This whole "grimdark" thing is something i wonder if was why that director left WW for creative differences? A director needs freedom to create their own movie but WB saying "it must be dark" is one hell of a rule to shackle a director with. An WW isnt a character that is dark and moody. It works for Batman and he looks great due to his character, same as Daredevil tv show was dark. But cant have every movie that way.

Conceptually has potential, but I have zero faith in Snyder as a director, particularly after the shit-show that was Man of Steel. The man is a Bay level talent at best.

Why are people urguing a trailer release for a movie that doesn't come out for another year? Anything they show now will be in the middle of post production work and CGI effects wouldnt be fully completed yet.

That looks like shit.

Absolute shit.

I've never been less hyped for a movie in my life, and that includes the new Fantastic Four flick.

Why do DC think that the only good Superman movie is one that completely fails to make him feel like Superman? Firckin' Nolan Batman feels more like Superman than the Superman of this trailer does, and he wasn't even mean to.

And I say this as a guy who actually enjoyed Man of Steel. Sure, it was shit as a Superman movie, but regarded purely as its own story with its own characters it was actually pretty entertaining.

Still not as good as this. ;-)

I love Pete Holems' batman videos. If this was a trailer for an actual movie, I'd go opening night.

OT: That trailer did nothing for me. Granted, I never saw MoS or read the Dark Night Returns.

Hmm, I wouldn't go that far. The guy has some talent for proper visuals, which already puts him above Bay. He does seem to opperate within the same Bay parameters though. I think he'd deliver better work as like a director of photography or something.

OT: The trailer looks fine, but so did the trailer for Man of Steel. Here though it's less the gritty visuals and director, and more my inability to buy into Superman and Batman existing within the same universe. I never did and I never will.

Its been official released now but I must say, I like it a lot. Its fitting a certain tone that has been showne before in the comics and in other stories and I am looking forward to this movie. Of course more work will be put into the post production but good enough for me so far. Finally no more throat cancer Batman voice.

But on the other hand, if they'd go for the atmosphere Marvel is going for. Hell, speaking of dark atmosphere, it's not like what we know about Avengers 2 isn't pretty dark. But it's as if DC just can't win. If they go down the bright and colourful route they'd probably be called out for copying Marvel. But when they do their own thing and try to differentiate themselves with their own, darker style they get accused for being too moody.

Honestly, I'm just happy we have two superhero movie-verses who will actually feel distinct from each other. Variety is the spice of life and all that. And y'know what? After this trailer; I'm willing to give it a chance. Surprisingly digging Affleck as Bruce Wayne, actually. Not a bad trailer as far as trailers go. We'll see.

I'm actually quite tired of people complaining about these DC movies being 'grimdark' or that they don't understand Superman. Bullcrap!

The colours may have a dark filter, but if you want grimdark, watch Daredevil on Netflix or Game of Thrones. Serious and realistic doesn't equate to dark. Marvel wants lighter films, DC wants serious films. Each have their place.

Also, why do people get so upset at a different take on Superman when comic book characters have always gone through different incarnations and takes by different writers? Heath Ledger's Joker was very different than all other versions, yet no one suggested Nolan didn't 'understand' the character. A Superman story that explores the consequences of being an alien with godlike powers makes perfect sense storywise, since a character doesn't become a symbol of hope overnight.

Just like what the trailer portraying, change scares many. Any sort of change into something unknown does not sit well with many. Or to reflect the words of MovieBob in 2012 and 2013...

"Its not MY Superman, Its not MY Spider-man. It's not MINE MINE MINE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!!!"

Different adaptations of a story and character is a good if executed in a good way. Repetition is just boring and tiring and very uncreative.

But at least Daredevil has moments of levity and humor. These DC films have no humor. It wouldn't kill them to have fun.
