So i've recently gotten into something i like to call Battle Orchestra, because, well, just listen.

It's basically the perfect kind of music to have running, when playing LoL/Heroes of Newerth/your game of choice.

This brings me to the point of the thread:

I can has battle orchestra recommendation please?
Also if you feel like it, discuss what kind of music best keeps You pumped when having a gaming session.

EDIT: I was kind of hoping for at least one response, so in hopes that someone might actually respond i'm bumping the thread.

Well, it ain't exactly "Battle orchestra", but these are the songs that get me pumped during a gaming session:
As you can tell, metal really gets my blood pumping. Especially good guitar bits. Nothing better than a great guitar bit to inspire confidence in my skills.

Finally, a chance to demonstrate my knowledge of epic music! You're going to want to check out the following bands:

Two Steps From Hell (I'm partial to their songs Invincible, United We Stand Divided We Fall, Black Blade, Strength of a Thousand Men and too many others to name)

Epic Score

Future World Music (You may recognize Turning of the Tides from the Batman:Arkham Asylum trailer)

Groove Addicts ( Battle of Knights was in a combat trailer for Batman:Arkham Asylum)

E.S. Posthumus

Audiomachine

West One Music

Immediate Music (Also known as Globus)

X-ray Dog

KPM Music

Brand X Music

And a few others I can't name off the top of my head right now.

If you go on youtube, there are users who collect this type of music. MusicToHealUrSoul is one, HDSounDI collects these as well as soundtracks from movies and anime, Jennyni200 collects these, so do park0urfreak and THESTORMWOLF9.

As you've probably guessed, I've spent a lot of time listening to this kind of music.

When I finally get an ipod, the music contained within will REND THE HEAVENS ASUNDER!

"Battle Orchestra" genre as you call it, goes by the name of Production Music in the industry. A Production Music Library or Company makes the music then sells it for other companies to use in trailers and whatnot. Among other purposes production music serves.

Yay! A place to post some of my new found love! (yes, it's old, and yes I'm a noob)
And if that doesn't suit your tastes, try songs from Blind Guardian and Hammerfall. Sacred Worlds and One of a Kind come to mind.

The following might not fall under "battle orchestra," but damned if they don't get the blood pumping for me.

The Viewtiful Joe series has a wide selection of awesome tracks:
There's this gem from Red Alert 2 as well:
There's also Total Annihilation's soundtrack:
