Anybody here ever watch Battlebots? If you hadn't, it's the ultimate nerd sport, where remote-controlled machines up to more than 300 pounds duke it out with spikes, flippers, and spinning discs, among others.
Anyway, it's coming back and going to be shown on ESPN next year (the competition itself is in November).
Anybody else excited?

I think I want to make one that fires full cans of shaken-up pop at the enemy bot, puncturing the can at the right spot so they propel themselves as well. Hit its weak spot for massive damage!

That was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid. Nice to hear it's making a comeback.

I like Battlebots better, Robot Wars didn't have the kickass giant sawblades coming out of the floor.

Robot Wars' flippers were better for the most part (Wheely Big Cheese FTW), but you just couldn't top Battlebots' spinners (Ziggo, Hazard, Nightmare, etc).

What series were you watching?
Eh, I don't even know. It's been so long since I've seen the show. I just remember giant sawblades coming out of the floor, which I believe was Battlebots.

Well...somewhat. The televised bits are going to be 160-pound machines built by colleges. More camera time is going to be spent in the pits.
Hopefully, oldies like Toro and Hazard can get some exhibition fights in.

I liked BattleBots more, just because BattleBots just had constant robot-on-robot action, while Robot Wars (and I could be remembering it wrong) had a maze or something at the end of a tournament. Am I right, or was that another robot fight show?

Anyways...YAY!! BattleBots is coming back. Too bad I don't get ESPN. :(

Oh, heck yes. Did you ever see Warhead? Team Razer built him. He was a nasty spinner that beat Nightmare and made it to the quarters before losing to Overkill in Season 5.
