Battlefield 1 Beta Starts Poorly as DDoS Attacks Reportedly Take Down Servers

//cdn.themis-media.com/media/global/images/library/deriv/1346/1346916.jpgThe Battlefield 1 beta kicked off yesterday, but it was plagued by server issues caused by a reported DDoS attack.

The open beta for Battlefield 1 kicked off yesterday [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/168302-Battlefield-1-Beta-Open], but it ran into some serious server issues. A hacking group has claimed responsibility for the DDoS attack that took down EA's servers for a good part of yesterday.

EA first announced the outage announced as resolved [https://twitter.com/AskEASupport/status/771053176069861376] until after 11:30 PM ET last night.

We were able to access the PC servers this morning with no issues, so it looks like EA has things under control again. As you might expect, players are already asking for the open beta to be extended, even though EA hasn't announced when the beta will end.

If you want to jump into the beta, it's free for everyone right now on PC (Origin [https://www.origin.com/store/free-games/demos-betas?referringsite=battlefield&_ga=1.172720675.1623409502.1461946121]), PS4, and Xbox One.

In this day and age of reasonable, mature, patient gamers it's not unusual to see them occasionally upset or a very slight bit angry when they don't see a game or gaming system that's not 150% the way they reasonably demand.

Edit: a typo.

It seems this happens to every game nowadays. I'm starting to wonder if this is exactly something that companies do on purpose for when they actually happen. Or it's like those groups that attacked Pokemon Go to help find weaknesses in their security to fix.

Neither. It's a group of assholes who think it's funny to ruin other peoples' enjoyment. Nothing more.

I would like to point out that I like how the name of the group isn't mentioned in the article. I don't know if this is by choice, or the information could not be obtained, but either way, I approve. Don't give these losers the time of day. They do it for attention, and I bet reading about their act and not seeing their name mentioned stings worse than any insult we can throw at them.

thats because the group is not know. There was a group claiming to do this on twitter but they were proven to be lieing and are know to claim credit for EVERY attack out there despite never actually doing a single one as far as we know. other than that noone took credit as far as i know.
