Battlefield 1943

(Atleast I think it's 1943?)

Is a new game coming to the Xbox360/PS3/PC this summer.

Now, my opinion is for the Xbox360; do you guys think that this game will be a hit even though it will only be available on the marketplace for download?

Also, it is only multiplayer (which, in my opinion is the best thing about battlefield anwyays).

Thoughts?

Why are they even releasing this? Come on, I want my BF3 already.

But on a less gloomy note, considering it's remake of BF1943 using their latest BF engines, I guess it's ought to be a really good game, and fun despite being back in a WW2 settings.

I think they're trying to follow the L4D/ DLC route. Not too sure about that. They tried that skew with those add-on packs, that had a couple more maps and a few more unlocks for arounf $5 - $15. For those confused I'm not talking about the Special Forces Expansion pack, which was awesome (same dev team that made Battlefield Vietnam incidently). The packs were called "Euro Forces" and "Armoured Fury".

I love the BF series but when those came out I lost a lot of faith in DICE, particularly when they failed to release much needed fixes and nerfs for BF2. Instead they released these profiteering after-thoughts.

Knowing me, I'll probably end up buying them. Even after my raging I'm a fan of the series.

Well that's the thing with this game. The graphics and gameplay, I've heard, are much like Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. If you just go to their website you can see it all for yourself:

I think it's gonna be a pretty cool game, and it's going to be nothing like BFBC (which is a good thing for how much that game sucked)

Well 1942 was the best effort in terms of size and variety so it could work. but they'll have to be very careful with what they put in and leave out

24 player servers vs the 64 player servers. A remake of Wake. How does that work if you're gonna cut the total player numbers by more than half?

I am tired of DICE working on this kind of nonsense and would prefer that they get on and either get the patch for BF2, which was meant to be here before Christmas last year but seems to now have disappeared without trace or maybe just get on and give us BF3. So far we've had BFBC, BF Heros and now BF1943, they've even announced BFBC2 for next year but no word as yet of a proper sequel to BF2
