Hi everyone.
I just got through the most annoying customer service chat in my life, and since I'm somewhat wroth over the whole thing, I feel like sharing. Basically, my problems began when I tried to join a server. I got disconnected without any error code. I tried again, and the same deal. The game doesn't even launch, and I simply get a message in my Firefox browser saying that I have been disconnected. Fair enough, sometimes this happens, so I try again a dozen times over. Nothing. The same damn error message "Game got disconnected()" pops up every bleeding time.
So, I click on the little "Feedback&Support" link on the left-hand side of the browser. I get connected to a guy in India. Hey, I live in Europe, so most of the tech support gets rerouted to there. No problem.
I talk to the guy for a while, and he gives me detailed troubleshooting instructions on how to make Battlefield 3/Origin run better.
1. shutdown all software and hardware firewalls
2. end every other process other than Explorer and TaskMgr
3. clean up my Temp folder (I run Uniblue PowerSuite 2011's programs every week, so this is hardly a big deal)
4. run Origin with full Admin privileges
When I refused to perform these steps the guy said that none of this will harm my computer in any way. He was adamant on this point - using CAPS and all. At this point I feel like uninstalling Origin and BF3, and just forgetting this whole mess ever took place. I had some old games that I took to GameStop in exchange for getting BF3, so I only really paid 7 euros for this game. Still that's valuable trades lost right there. I'm not going to get my money back, but I did receive a 20% discount coupon for my next Origin purchase. It's good for a month, but somehow I doubt, I'll have any use for the damn thing.
