I'll admit I prepurchased this, but only to give me a slight competitive edge against other online players. Still though.. doesn't this all seem a bit gimmicky, considering their boasts that this will be the best online shooter ever?

Honestly, I recommend you people get Red Orchestra 2 over Battlefield 3. It's just gonna be alot better ^^.
Ok how about this get both of them. ** omg I?m so smart small applause ** no really you can?t go around comparing those two games they are set in different time zones making them completely different and both good.

I'm still not cool with Origin, so I'll likely pass this up. ~_~ Why EA had to start a fight with Valve, god only knows.

Still considering.. I really love the BF series until now! (Hell even Bad Company 2 wasn't bad)
But it won't sell via steam =/
I'll buy it via EA site soon I guess, but then I'll have to get a creditcard somewhere

I believe the 3 big multiplayer shooters of this year are CoD:MW3,Red Orchestra 2 and Battlefield 3.
CoD will repeat it's yearly same formula and will have tons of buyers,Red Orchestra 2 seens to have a extremely good gameplay which I already pre-ordered from STEAM but Battlefield 3... sounds like a good time with a good enhancement from Bad Company 2 series but if it's not on Steam I'm sure it will be crushed on sales from MW3

Must be US only as UK Origin does not mention anything about early beta access.... Because of all of this it looks like there will be loads of people who have played the before it comes out in Oct. So since I cannot be there right at the beginning, I don't feel the need to pre order or even buy the game at launch. Will wait for the price drops some months later like I did for BFBC2. Good job EA.
It does mention it if you go to the webstore page for it
http://store.origin.com/store/eaemea/en_GB/html/pbPage.battlefield3_EN_LE/
Though as it is £10 or 33% more expensive than my pre-order with Game, I shall stick where I am.

You get the Physical Warfare Pack only available at Game and Gamestation.

Also I am now wondering if Andy Chalk is related to Charlie Chalk

I feel like the amazon one just kinda sucks. Maybe because I couldn't care less about random dog tags that mean nothing.

Maybe I'll just order it online from Gamestop. That would probably work.
I believe that is one of the few that will continue to be totally exclusive. Many of the other things will be able to be unlocked eventually by all players.

The have updated the page since I last looked, so good not a US exclusive. The 33% over elsewhere will take some thinking about though.

I usually dislike exclusive preorder stuff, but at least they're timed. Also, nice incentive togo to Origin while not feeling forced, so nice job there EA. Overall, still bad that it's not on Steam, but at least EA did some things right (even though I'm positive that the timed exclusive part was all DICE).

Origin is lame as hell. The game is okay at best with breathtaking animations and good graphics. But it just feels like CoD meets Bad Company 2.5.
Ok Origin is terrible we all know this but I?m afraid I?m going to have to kill you know for comparing a good fps with a terrible annual money grabber that is known as CoD.

Having maps as preorder bonsues seems kinda dumb, a great way to split your player base from day one and really mess with the multiplayer experience.
I don't think Back to Karkland is going to be available on day 1. I'm pretty sure the preorder bonus just means you don't have to pay for it when it comes out. From what I understand it's supposed to be the classic Battlefield 2 Modern combat maps with all the old weapons and vehicles only with the updated graphics and destruction engine.

Have you even tested the game? How can you say its good if you haven't?
I shall assume you say that because you have played Red Orchestra 2 (If not then your argument is flawed.) The reason I say this is from previous experience of Battle field 2 and bad company. Yes there is the chance that it is not going to be good but as long as it plays the same as its predecessors then it should not mess up and be a good game worth the money I spend.
