What are your thoughts on Battlefield 3 after the gameplay we saw?

I found it very impressive to say the least.

I won't be buying it because I find the gameplay slow and boring, but WOW what a pretty game.

Dat multiplayer footage... A beta before the game comes out... the only thing I've left to be worried about is if they fuck up the console version. But so far it looks like they're walking the walk behind their talk.

Holy Shit...

The first thing that struck me is the visuals. Everything about the visuals screams realism and fidelity without looking boring or brown. Everything looks so crisp and clean.

Next we have the sound. DICE is known for sound, and this game doesn't dissapoint. BF3 just one ups Bad Company 2 in every way.

DICE is also taking a huge shit on CoD with this. Unless CoD can show us something better (which I highly doubt) they'll be in serious trouble.

It's looking good. In fact, it's looking damn impressive. I've been hyped for this for a long time! The visuals look stunning and the sound is, well, amazing! ( To be expected from dice )

What I found funny, was the guy presenting laughed when he talked about the social features ( Wonder why? xD ) being free! All of them. The entire Social service offered by Dice is Free - Basically taking a massive shit on CoD's head. Which to me is great!

I honestly hope and wish that this outsells CoD and gains best FPS/Shooter of the year. It deserves it.

I still have my concerns for the multiplayer on the console versions, but otherwise the damn thing looks fantastic.

Well, i hope to god that they ditched punkbuster in favor of something that actually works.

Tell me, why do i have to download an update (manually) EVERY TIME I WANT TO PLAY, it seems that i cannot be allowed to play the freaking game as it kicks me out constantly. For Christ's sake, have an automatic updater or whatever.

You sir's capture my sentiment. I like the fact that all the "extra" stuff, is free.

Eh, the animations are a little weird to me. When sprinting the character holds the gun in one hand, and relatively steady. When crawling, your hands slide across the ground instead of push you. When you fire a machine gun, the chain just sits there, rather than being pulled through.

That said, the game looks beautiful, and the gameplay is solid, especially the destruction.
