Basically, I got Battlefield Bad Company 2 during the summer and went I went back to College, I noticed that I couldn't play it online. It would just give me an error message saying that it couldn't connect to EA online from the game menu. This game worked perfectly fine in its online mode back at home.

So it obviously has something to do with my new internet connection, that is, my College's internet. It's not just the college's wifi, but also their wired connection as well that seems to cause this problem.

Has anyone ever experienced this with EA online before? Does anyone know of any fixes? I have 64 bit vista, the rest of my computer specs are irrelevant, since the game performs well.

Also, for further discussion: Has something like this ever happened to you, where you had a game where you could play under one person's internet connection, but not another's?

Thanks

Edit: I am using the PC version.

Probably something to do with the router. Could be the NAT type?

Best you could do is probably ask after whoever does the network for your college setup.

Might also be a port forwarding problem, but if you're playing the PC version that's less likely.

Some colleges block game servers. When Modern Warfare came out my roomie had to get our techies to unblock the game for him. Check that.

My campus blocks Steam and Outlook. Thank god I live off campus.
