Battlefield Bad Company 2

Did anyone notice that the story in BFBC2 doesn't pick up from the original story. In the original it ends with the squad leaving with a truck-full of gold going there own way. In the sequel it has them doing a patrol in Russia. Did DICE forget about the original single player or is there something I'm missing.

Maybe they just hid the gold until they are all relieved of duty, it would be pretty safe to assume that there will be a Bad Company 3, since the US is still at war with Russia, so maybe we'll hear something about the gold in the next game.

People play BFBC2 for the story?

I must be in the minority. I don't enjoy a closeted military fetishist's wet dreams dribbling all over my TV.

Bad Company 2 is not worth my money, because:

- the storyline in Single Player sunk to the level of any other generic shooter
- there's no co-op mode, even though this is a sequel. Sequels are supposed to improve on the original
- the SP game play challenge is created with lazy game mechanics
- the AI sucks. It really is horribly stupid.
- The game play area is artificially limited. Again this is a sequel, so I expect the game to improve in some fashion

Bad Company 2 is worth my money, because:

- Damn it's pretty!
- Really nice sounds, especially from the guns
- Online game play is solid and good, although it's basically just Modern Warfare 1 with operable vehicles
- There's an actually incentive to move around, because of destroyable cover, so a little less camping in MP compared to Modern Warfare (1 or 2)

Wait you mean there is a single player?

I was sold at bad company 2 has conquest mode again. Conquest mode is what got me into PC gaming because battlefield 2 was so much fun to play online. Did battlefield 2 even have a single player? well i am getting side tracked long story short ive been waiting for a new conquest game since BF2.

It is a shame that story doesnt follow on, I like the SP in BC1, it actually had characters you gave half a shit about and they all had different personalities. Other than the trend of FPS dialogue being "grrruuuunt, grrrrrr, arrrgghhhh, bastard! grrr guugurgh"

I'm relatively new to the Battlefield series, but it seems to me that once you get the sniper rifle, there isn't too much need for any other weapon save the random RPG. At least in Campaign. haven't really given multiplayer a spin yet, since my lobby break on release day.
