It's hard not to feel that there's a little bit of Twilight inspiring the latest Battlefield Heroes update that pits vampires against werewolves.
Who said it was Twilight inspired? And who says the vampire vs werewolf thing in Twilight wasn't a rip off of Underworld? Maybe it was Underworld inspired. Seems more logical to me since they are using guns and not being whiny emo teenagers.

Twilight has done more to popularize "Vampires vs. Werewolves" than anything else in decades - so it seems odd to argue that there wasn't any inspiration there.
Buh????

You mean apart from World of Darkness, Underworld, Hammer Horror, Discworld, Van Helsing, Ginger Snaps, Anita Blake, Blade, Being Human, Anne Rice, Bitten, The She-Wolf of London, Crimson Moon, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Nightbreed, Marvel, DC, Bloodlines, Kindred: The Embraced or even a certain overlooked show called Buffy or Angel?

Twilight doesn't even deserved being mentioned in the same lack of breath.
My thoughts exactly... So what, now we can't talk about vampires or werewolves without invoking Twilight...? Great, that's just great.

And here I was ready to lose all faith in humanity. But, since it's not actually the Twilight version of vampires and werewolves, then all is well.

Uh...glances at the Underworld series DVDs on the nearby shelf...how does the angsty teen-girl series get the credit for this? *shrugs*

Anyhoo, I'd not seen/heard of this game before, looks kinda fun even without the supernatural add-ons.

I don't really think its meant to be Twilight related. That would be like saying that other new supernatural properties like Daybreakers i or the Wolfman are related to that horrible movie. Jeez, I mean vampires and wolfmen were around (and quite popular) before Twilight spoiled all their fun. I am all for bashing Twilight but seriously have some respect for the classic monsters people.

*sigh* I beta tested this game.

If I see anything even slightly resembling a sparkle I'll vomit.

It'd be completely fine if they didn't somewhat give you that feel as if someone told the designer to give them that emo twilight like look.

With the design of battlefield heroes, it would have seemed far more appropriate to make them look more like the traditional old school movie monsters.
I mean, it's all WWII esque, that's what I'd expect to see.

Wait do people still play Battlefield Heroes?

I mean I gave it a shot but I was really disappointed.

Like I said I beta teseted it.
I enjoyed it, was different, liked the change in pace but, I ended up having to step away from it because I had some manner of Vista issue related with playing it that made trying to a frustrating pain after awhile.
Haven't been back to the game in a long time.
I'd have played it off and on if it hadn't been for that problem though.

Hasn't the whole Vampire vs Werewolf thing been around since Van Helsing/Underworld. (Note I don't know anything about any vampire/werewolf literature so I'm sure theres examples before even this) Besides from what I've seen in the Twilight Blood somthing trailer there werewolf guys turn into dogs, not even werewolfs unlike the wolfman in this trailer.

But then again anyone tied to the twilight series will think Vamps Vs Furries = Twilight or a Twi-ripoff

Okay, okay, it's clear that these aren't exactly the Twilight vampires and werewolves (there's far too little sparkling and shirt-removing, respectively), but can you really blame people for making the connection?
We must work diligently to not associate anything that involves werewolves and vampires with Twilight. That just exacerbates everything.

That aside, this does like fun. I haven't played since the beta, since my computer can't run anything.
