NOTE: Not sure if I have neglected the search bar. (I tend to be allergic to the damend thing...yet again, this is my 3rd of 4th topic on the Escapist, ever.)

So, I was browsing the Gamestop website, seeing what fun little things I could dig up for fun next year, and I came across this new wonder from SEGA. Personally, I thought the father of the Blue Blur was long dead, releasing crap after crap now...however...

After watching the videos on the game's information page on Gamestop, it's looking damn good. I'm a very artsy type, and the style, music, and everything in the game looks like it would be a blast, too. The fact that it's basically DMC, or let's say Hellsing, does not make me look away from it, either.

So, my fellow Escapists, what have you guys heard about this small little disk that has just blind-sided me? Any information or thoughts on it? Please, do tell. =]

Bayonetta= Fucking awesome!

I have the demo, and it kicks DMC4's ass. It is a must-buy for DMC fans. I love it.

Played the demo. God of war and Devil May Cry 4 are shamelessly ripped off. More of the latter than the former.

It disgusted me, frankly.

EDIT: conflicting responses using the same reason for the win.

I played the demo. Here were my thoughts:

1. That girl is going to have terrible back pain when she's older.
2. Are her clothes made of her hair or something? Why is she naked in half her special attacks?
3. I'm glad I have sensible boobs. And gait.
4. I CAN TOTALLY WALK ON WALLS BWAHAHAHAHA-
5. Want.

It looked like trash. Played it. It was trash. Well, the gameplay is solid, better than DMC4s by far. But the Bayonetta herself, the style, the randomness, and the stupidity of it all made me want to grind my face against a wall. But apparently that's just me, so disregard that.

As a note, I loved Devil May Cry and DMC3.

Wow, dude...

OT: In my opinion it seems like crap.
I don't know why it just does
I tend not to look too much into games in development. ^^;

I like to let them swim in the fishtank-like market games go to after they've been released. Get the word around, but every now and then, a game will catch my eye and then I just want to learn all I can about it before I buy/rent it.

For example, I only ever rented Arkham Asylum, because I beat it all in one night. Glad I did not spend 60 bucks for it to collect dust. It was fun, but not worth a replay, in my opinion. Plus, I'm not one for time trials.

I noticed similar play between the two and i expected that considering it was made by the same people behind Devil May Cry just produced by SEGA. The hair part being her clothes made me have a laugh cause it's silly when thought about

I predict myself wasting much of my life trying to find out every subtle nuance possible about Bayonetta.

Er... the game, I mean, not... oh, never mind.

It's odd to see you say this, with a Haruhi avatar. Just sayin', randomness would be a prime word for that anime. Not that I don't love it any less because of it all.

It hurt my eyes.

Then the music started and suddenly my eyes didn't seem so sore in comparison to my ears.

SEGA does have more franchises than just Sonic.

I thought it would be too but when I played the full version at this thing called Eurogamer Expo and thoroughly enjoyed it and became one of my must buys for next year. Honestly you should give it a go. Its fan past fun which doesnt get too hard to handle but also makes your heart beat at some time.

I enjoyed the demo. It's not great but it's a fresh change from GoW and DMC with a funky style and nice edge of being able to loot your enemies weapons after they die. I feel it keeps the game a little fresher and some of the torture attacks are just great fun.

Dunno if i'll buy it, but as i said a welcome change to the current pace. Looking forward to Dante's Inferno most in the hack and slash adventure genre though.

p.s. On a side note also thought i'd mention how good Darksiders is actually looking now

Ah, but most not so well known. I know they have Phantasy Star, etc.

However, I just have found all of their recent games to either be below average or delightfully 'meh'.

To answer your question: Yes. Her clothes is totally made of her hair. And she uses a hair/clothes to summon monsters and stuff. Yeah.

Take that as you may.

Reserved. Originality is what I buy now. Even unpolished originality. Thankfully, this is also polished.

Love Devil May Cry and this looks like a deeper, more fun version of DMC where you play a smokin' hot chick.

You can't go wrong.
