Hey guys! I am planning on buying Bayonetta for the PS3 but I've heard some bad things about the port. I wanted ask if the patch that is out improves anything or is it minor? Also what are your impressions on the PS3 version? Is it really that bad? I've played the demo and it didnt seem bad but I was wondering if the actual game is different.

I'm one to believe that hack-and-slash games are best played with a DualShock controller, so I say go for it.

I didn't really notice any difference between the 360 and PS3 versions besides that, so I'm not really in any position to suggest something.

I know this is advertising, but read my review [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.169030-JK-Reviews-Bayonetta-Warning-May-Contain-Spoilers] of it.

In short, its not bad, just the story sucks and is incomprehensible and the PS3's load times can break immersion and enjoyment of the combat.

If that's your cup of tea, personally I rented it and couldn't stand it.
It was a seizure comprised entirely of ridalin, hair, and implied sex appeal.

It has really bad load times, or it did, there was a patch that allowed you to install it to your hard drive, but i had already traded it back in. I dont know how it is once installed but without install, the loadtimes were over a minute, it loaded for 6 second before the pause menu poped up, it loaded during cutscenes, when you picked up an item, basicaly anything you did caused it to load. other then that it was pretty good.

The patch made a huge difference. The load times are basically the same on the PS3 as it was on the X360 now that you can install the game. The patch didn't fix a few of the graphical set backs and occasional (quite minor) screen tearing. So in terms of quality, the PS3 version is still a tad bit worse than the X360 version, but not by much.

Ok sure dosent sound that bad right? Well when god of war 2 can load once for 10 seconds on the PS2 i expect more from a PS3 game. Or look at Uncharted 2, sure it has long load times, but thats once, after that, you never have to load again! And in bayonetta, you have to sit through that load time every single time you die. And you will die, alot! It is freaking annoying!

According to Game Informer, if you have an option, get the 360 version. The graphics are better and the loading times are not as long.

PS3 owner, in case anyone is wondering.

Nope wasnt wondering, but thanks for telling us. It lets us get to know you better, like one big family! I have a PS3 and 360, thanks for asking. I bet we will be friends forever!

I don't mean to sound like an idiot, but is that sarcasm or not? I'm only asking because I really can't tell the difference (have a hard time IRL as well.)

The patch allows you to install the game if you choose, which makes a HUGE cut on load times, such that even between stages they become almost nothing. Other than that I haven't noticed any problems with it, personally, and I've beaten the whole game.

Figured someone who watches anime would be used to incomprehensible stories.
I normally only watch the ones that make sense.

I played it at a friend's house, it was ... meh. Not my kinda game. Horrendous loading times. Completely over the top action mixed with magic/witches. An absolute no no for me.
