So when the guy above me says "I love the Beeb," I get more than a little confused. BEE. BEE. SEE. BBC. It's not hard to type, exactly.

It's a colloquialism, easier to pronounce than BBC.

I didn't think they were putting much effort into reporting this travesty. It seems the UK at least is in no mood to stop ANOTHER murderous dictator, not with the Olympics and Jubilee, then it's Election year in America. And France is just winding down from an election and they are too busy trying to get enough political capital to deal with Greece let alone action on Syria.

Uhh, WW3 didn't start when America, UK, Poland, Australia and so on went into Iraq, to spite how China and Russia didn't want that. There wasn't even a slightest interruption in the steady supply of gas and oil from Russia, or cheap consumer goods (like iPods and trendy Jeans) from China.

China and Russia could be persuaded... it's not like Syria is their best friend and steadfast ideological ally.

I really don't get how they could make this mistake. The UN logo isn't hard to recognise, and the UNSC logo clearly isn't similar. Plus it says UNSC, not UN. I think perhaps it was a joke by a bored Halo fan working in the BBC.

United nations security council, same as UNSC and they probably got the image by typing UNSC into google. I hate it when any organisation ballses up and then trys to promote themselves in their apology, its not a serious problem but it is rather annoying.
