I just saw this and am completely outraged. I can't believe the BBC has some right to deny me the content it makes with my money which I am legally required to pay even if I don't want to watch their channels.
I think this sums it up, from the article:
"Under licensing rules, the BBC is not allowed to encrypt the actual video or audio streams.
So instead it is requesting that it be allowed to encrypt the data associated with TV listings without which set-top boxes are not able to decode the TV content."
The BBC is so out of touch with it's users. They still don't get why we're annoyed by their ridiculous bonuses and high pay.
