This particular RRoD cause does not destroy the solder points, it's a pretty easy fix to repair Micro$uck's bumbling attempt at hardware. The GPU heats up the poorly ventilated case. The heat warps the board due to stress from Micro$uck's gimmicky and ridiculous X-Clamps that hold the GPU and CPU to the motherboard. The warped board separates the GPU connections (solder points) from the board, XBox then RRoD with error E-74. Heat can actually repair it temporarily, the towel trick overheats the XBox and lets the solder points settle into place while still hot/warm (eventually this will cause irreparable damage to the XBox).
On Topic: I am not surprised, the thing was designed to fail or Micro$uck are incompetent with hardware, which one do you think it is?
