be honest: does your girlfriend accept you as a gamer?

The girl I'm unofficially seeing, definitely.

If a girl refuses to accept your interests, get rid of her.

oddly enough my girlfriend isn't a gamer but she does accept the gaming, I even showed her a couple of episodes of Unskippable and Yahtzee that she thought were funny (though I was explaining a fair bit). Most of the time I play games when she's either not here or we're getting ready to go out, that's almost a guarantee of at least 2 hours gaming.:p

Yes she does. She has never given me any impression to think that she doesn't like me gaming. I have never done anything like forgetting to pick her up because I was killing a Tyranid Hive in DoW2 however, so that helps.

My ex boyfriend was accepting of it since he was a gamer as well. Though, he preferred to lay around and watch tv most of the time. >_>

Or does she gets pissed at the mere mention of WoW?

I didn't read all the posts but i'm assuming i'm not the only one here who's girlfriend finds it very difficult to actually grasp why i spend countless hours in front of a monitor.
From WoW > HoN > TF2 I play all sorts of games that people would always consider to be Elitist games (Maybe not if you play Engineer on TF2) and my girlfriend dislikes it.
She used to be a gamer but finding the right game for her is like finding her Zing!

She needs a hobby and like all other girls she doesn't have one which means i have to entertain her -.-

Edit: She used to game but I think she'd prefer me to be with her than game... Its more of a priorities issue.

My boyfriend is a gamer but he doesn't like the fact I game. I think it makes me less femenine in his eyes.

At first he was like 'omg, you're a gamer, we can play together!' but I'm into solo-rpg's like Fable and Morrowind, hardcore WoW raiding, League of Legends and FPS's, none of which we can really play together since he doesn't enjoy raiding, doesn't like tower defense and...quite frankly I suck at shooters so it makes him mad to have me on his team :p

I think I've been fairly fortunate in my rather short lived love life so far...

Girlfriend 1 tried in vain to sell my PS2, which I did... to buy a PSP.

Girlfriends 2 and 3 didn't have a lot to say because we only went out for a few weeks.

Girlfriend 4 was AWESOME! She was a fantastic gamer. She kicked my ass at GH, Halo 3, and a few others. She's turned into a CASUAL gamer though!

Girlfriend 5 while being a whore, seemed to be a good luck charm. Her presence around me improved my MW2 score, but maybe that was her giving me a lot of blowjobs while I was playing haha

Absolutely, it means my wife doesn't feel like she's ignoring me when she's off riding the horses because she knows I'm happy doing my own thing.

*Looks over at girlfriends replica lancer and arbiter models*

If she doesn't then she'd be a damned hypocrite.

Absolutely yes, she actively seems to enjoy watching me play certain games as well. Shes a big Sims and Spore fan anyways. Convincing her to give some games a try is proving difficult though

Yes she accepts my being a gamer. And my being a massive nerd generally. I'm teaching her to game :D. With a combo of LBP, Mini-Ninjas and the LEGO games.

... Sorry I couldn't resist XP
You'll be surprised how many people here are girls. It seems to be about 1 in 5 or so, maybe 4.

Currently, I don't have a girlfriend, but I was colse friends with one a while back and we've caught up occasionally and chat alot over Skype, I might meet up with her again sometime soon.

See, I can post about my personal life here. Internet is win.

Sadly no girlfriend for me and this is why. I'm not getting one until I can find someone who can accept that I'm a horrible person plus a gamer and like me for it. Gonna be a while.

She doesn't understand how I am capable of spending several hours at a time on a computer, but that's because her eyes aren't trained for that amount of stress. I don't think she minds that I am a gamer, in fact, there are times where we are able to play games together that she enjoys like super mario wii or mario kart.

It also comes in handy for her whenever there's a game that she enjoys the storyline of, but can't play, so she asks me to play through it for her so she can watch. Not to mention that because of my gaming abilities, whenever she has a computer or internet issue, she can come to me for help.

My sister also finds my gaming ability quite useful, my nephew is a gamer himself and she doesn't like getting games that may be too mature for him. So she often comes to me when he wants something that she doesn't know anything about. It works out both ways in this situation because I get to help her and feel smart at the same time. That and she dabbles in gaming herself and I am there to help her out of situations where she feels it's impossible.

Which is quite funny because I make it look so easy! :D

edit That and people seem to get a big kick out of my nerd humor, so I'm definitely living the gamers dream... Except for winning tournaments... That's on my list of things to tackle!
