Be honest, does your girlfriend (if you have one) accept you as a gamer
Or does she gets pissed at the mere mention of WoW?

Well I JUST broke up with her but I'll pretend we're still dating, just for you ;)

Absolutely she did, and she was a gamer also. Granted, she was an AWFUL gamer but was a huge Tales fan.

We were a dynamic tank/healer duo in WoW. Good times.

She doesn't have a problem with me gaming, just so long as I don't take too much time away from her ^^;;

EDIT: She's something of a gamer herself

Yeah, I think girls just see it as an additional thing. My ex girlfriends have known how delightfully nerdy I am.

I was playing GTA4 with one and she got angry if I killed pedestrians.
I was playing MW2 one time whilst another was round, and I put her on mic to see how other gamers reacted to a girl playing. It was something like this

I wouldn't touch WoW haha
but back when I had a girlfriend...
she definitely didn't approve of gaming, but I just basically didn't mention or touch it when she was around

Currently single, but I doubt that I'd consider someone a significant other if they refused to accept such an integral part of me.

My ex-wife pretended to accept my gaming habit when we were dating. After we got married though she began a long and arduous crusade to rid me of this alien "thing" that she didn't understand. She was unsuccessful. We really didn't have anything in common at all, gaming simply being one of many of my interests that she couldn't stand. And from that I have learned an important lesson that could benefit just about anyone: never date someone if you don't have common interests that you can share.

All the guys I've dated are gamers, so they can accept that I game. Not dating anyone at the moment but I'm pretty sure I'll continue to date people who game rather than people who don't. Although I do get pissed off at the mere mention of WoW - I see it as the demonic thing which stole so many of my friends away from me. WoW is just so life consuming for some people.
