I don't have a girlfriend, and I would never have a girlfriend who had a problem with me being a gamer.

Girlfriends have never had to 'accept' me as a gamer since it isn't a big part of my life, just one of the things I like doing... I will also happily drop any game I might be playing if she wants us to spend time together and just go back to it sometime later. So it has never been an issue.

Some did, and others hated it.
But I would say, that the "majority" wasn't pro-gaming...
But to be honest, in the first few weeks of a relationship, you don't get much time(and aren't much interested in) playing videogames... ;-)

As long you and your partner find a balance, things usually work out.
As example: An afternoon of quiet gaming-time for me in exchange for a movie and cuddling on the couch in the evening for her...
...not the worst deal imho ^^

To my knowledge, yes. If she doesn't, she has never mentioned it or made me think she doesn't.

I don't date girls who don't game. It creates rifts in the relationship.
She won't understand when I don't call due to a killstreak, you know?

my Ex didn't mind, but then i kinda stopped playing when she was around, games are fun, but there where plans (that never came to be sadly) for our future, and i felt trying to fulfill those was more important then grinning a few level on CoH

Over the last five years I've done lots of grinding, battling her annoyance of my love of gaming, until now, where she plays more games a week than I do! Granted they're mostly of the casual persuasion of games, like the Cake Mania styles, but she also likes playing games like Harvest Moon and she love the creature stages of Spore, she'll just keep making new creatures whenever they reach the civilization age.

She thinks I play alot but she doesn't mind at all. I even get her to play Bomberman and LittleBigPlanet. She's a fan of Street fighter because I let her win. I'm slowly warming her to play more. MY target is for her to complete World at War on Vet :)

My girlfriend of almost a year is fairly accepting of my gaming, but I don't truly believe she accepts it as something I do every week. Pretty much what was said here;

Overall, my gaming time has (unfortunately) decreased quite a bit. At most it's like 2-4 hours every other day. Aw well, it's still enough.
I play for what I can and rarely play when she is around. But i've also had a part in getting her to play some casual stuff like PvZ and I bought her a Wii for her B'day which she enjoys quite a bit with myself and the family. :D

Apparently PC gaming is "Anti Social" behaviour though, to the people living under our house-hold. :O

You should resist. :p For girls online, it's become eyerollingly dull to hear that again and again and again... and again.... and again..... :T

This is kind of flipped.... but sometimes I don't think my boyfriend really accepts me as a gamer. I think he thinks it's a waste of my time. :(

It's weird, too. Most guys would love a girlfriend that plays video games!

I'm not going out with anyone, but my mum says I'm just more specialer than the other kids AND that I'm just as cool!

[small]Specialer is a fucking word?[/small]

Alas, I remember a simpler time when waving a white dildo around with 1-3 family members and/or friends was also looked down upon.

It truly is a brave new world we live in.

(I keep posting in this thread, even though I don't have a girlfriend. I totally don't qualify to post, but I am replying to peoples threads. Oh well. :) )

Totally, in fact we play together, every game, and she loves it. She's also a model.

I fucking wish :(

That means I don't have one, in case it was lost on you.
One of my best friends is a gamer, a model, AND going to school for her law degree. She's a super brain. :) Hey, and single. ;) Your scenario doesn't sound to implausible to me. In fact, you had me going until you said it wasn't so.

Keep looking! You'll find who you're looking for. :)

My wife IS a gamer. She yells at ME for not playing enough WoW.
Same deal here.
In fact, the missus has more character higher level than me on WoW AND she beat unlocked Drizzt on Baldur's Gate: DA before I could. If that wasn't awesome enough, she's also beautiful. I hit some kind of cosmic jackpot. ^_^
