"it's like a mini-Skyrim but you're a bear."
This just make me think of the 'Skyrim: Bear' and 'Dovahbear' videos on YouTube.

That is the first thing that came to mind when I read this. We can only hope that "unlockale bear abilities" includes a thu'um.

So...a bear that walks on two legs? If it's realistic does that mean you spend half the game asleep?

Also, does the player get to maul park goers and steal picnic baskets?

Well, I don't often say this but: Shut up and take my money.

I think this could be just a fabulous game...

This looks absurdly like My Kind Of Thing. An exploration based game where you bumble around being a goofy, videogamey bear and eating everything? And you fight bigfoot? And there's some sort of mysterious, mystical bear lodge? Count me in.

Just imagine the pitch for this. Jim: "Hey guys we want to make a game in which you play a bear that roams the forest. No story really you just do bear stuff". Rich man in suit: "What are you crazy Jim! We can't keep putting out your crazy ideas!" Jim: "oh but its a simulator." Rich man in suit: " By god Jim you are a genius! I want it on the front page of steam by the end of the week!"

Why do we love random simulators so much?

Why do people like rocky horror picture show, MST3K, and rifftrax so much?

Yeah, this is basically that kind of thing. We like them so much because they are simply chock full of delicious comedic material and it's good fun to laugh at them.

...I think the analogy to "Skyrim" might have been an unfortunate one. I'm trying to remember what I did to the last, oh, sixty or so bears I killed in "Skyrim". I think most of them met a fate involving the repeated application of about two bazillion volts of electricity. (Thanks, destruction magic! I regret ever calling you "useless".)

Anyway, after that, I cut off their skins to make clothing, and their claws to make potions. Because apparently multiple lightning strikes do no damage to bearskin at all.

Joking aside though, I wouldn't say this was an "interesting" concept per se, but I'd be curious about how the finished game turned out.

I have to be perfectly honest... I really did want this. Like, exactly this. I was hoping a Skyrim mod would appear after the whole Dovabear craze, but none did. A stand alone game? You bet I'll be backing this.

My only question though... Can bears actually strafe?

So exactly like Skyrim, but without the dragons, annoying vampires, retarded Thieves Guild, even more retarded Assassins Guild, poorly developed factions who need their heads knocked together, totally-not-zombies, or the stereotypical old men on the mountain. Not even a single giant or mammoth.

In other words absolutely nothing like Skyrim.

Welp, can't fight them, join them. I hear mountaineers are very nutritious.

Strange, neither was the discription. :3

(Jokes aside, jokes aside)

This is going to be nice. and nice to see some innovation finally. lets hope its not going to be that wolverine game again (im talking about guise of the wolf). ANd internet certainly loves strange simulators. Though i feel like this could just be a mod for skyrim.

And then the bear tore him in half for democracy.

Shouldn't the bear be walking on all four instead of holding his paws up in front of him like a zombie?

Honestly, this looks fairly dull when compared to Goat Simulator in my opinion. I mean, one game's selling point is "forage for berries" the other's is "chase a guy with a park bench."

It just seems like this game takes it's concept too seriously and it looks bland because of it. Some people might enjoy catching fish and chasing rabbits as a bear, but I would prefer things like climbing up and tearing apart a house, as if playing Rampage. They're taking the "bear" concept too literal to be fun, in my opinion. If I'm going simulate a bear I want to do awesome things, and stealing honey just isn't awesome enough to be fun? Unless you're stealing it from a maximum security warehouse.
