I can't grow facial hair, as per my employment (except for a mustache, and I dont know anyone who looks good with one) but, I prefer the good week old stubble. Just short of the hair coming away from the face.

Oh and, Honorable mention,

At the moment I've got my facial hair shaven back to moustache and chin strip (Brisbane's a little muggy at the moment for full beards) but usually I either have full beard or moustache and chin beard with side burns. Been that way since I was 17.

I will say though facial hair is not for everyone, especially for people who can't grow them properly. I also recomend that if you are young but want to grow a mo or beard. SHAVE!!!! By regularly shaving what ya doing is something similar to pruning a tree. Instead of the little boy bum fluff you kids are so proud of you'll wind up with a full, bushy growth.

Also whilst I can't speak for the ladys I will say there is nothing more disgusting than a dirty unkempt beard. Wash your beards gentlemen! Also keep them trimmed and neat - you don't have to do it every day I get away with doing once every two weeks; for others it may be different. This especially goes for people in my line of work (Qualified Chef). There have been days when I've refused to go out to customers because I forgot to trim up by beard and I looked like crap!

I grow an ugly beard... I can't seem to grow anything between my moustache and beard, which sucks because I wanted to try the Tony Stark look. And I'm 19, so I doubt I'll ever be able to.

Shave it.
Beard is an abomination upon face.
Very very few look good with one.
I take offense to that. I look magnificent fully bearded up.

Properly trimmed my beard is awesome.

Besides I am 28 and if I shave my beard off people think I am 20.

Oh and, when I saw this thread, i immediately thought of this.

I dont know whats better, the beard, or the reaction to the beard.

I like this thread...

My beard grows in pretty well and just a little bit lacking in the mustache department, but not enough to prevent me from looking pretty good letting it all grow out. Sadly circumstances prevent me from growing it out.

I've gotten mixed feelings towards it among my lady friends, but some positives is more than enough for me.

I like beards, but I imagine it would be a pain in the ass actually trying to maintain one.

And as for the bonus question I would really love to see more appropriations of mutton chops, it seems like in Aus all we get is bad porno 'staches, hipster stubble and the occasional all-out beard of manliness.

I find beards frustratingly itchy, and prefer how I look clean-shaven or with stubble. It helps that my girlfriend likes my face with stubble too...

I personally like some stubble, but my girlfriend likes me clean shaven. So I usually alternate off between them
