After my mostly serious (and strangely successful) first attempt at a topic, I've decided to go with the requisite silly discussion this time.
I was reading the forums this morning (okay I was watching ENN, but the little 'latest posts' thing caught my eye), and I noticed a thread titled Girlfriends: Are They Worth The Effort?
This brought to mind something that has been bugging me since I first picked up an N64 controller (back in my PC days, I was too young to care). What things have GAMERS themselves said or done that has made you ashamed to be a part of that culture?
For me, it's questions like that one, for one thing. (Just FYI, my girlfriend and I just had our one year anniversary).
Another thing is people who play - and love - big-title FPS games; Halo, Modern Warfare, Gears of War, Counterstrike, etc... As far as I'm concerned, these people are the equivalent of Metal fans in the music culture. Nice enough guys, but dear God if you aren't a fan of what they like, do NOT start talking to them about it.
And just so I can ninja everyone who I'm sure will be jumping to post this, let's add in the preteen *insert your favourite cuss here* who clog up XBox Live with their squeaky voices and teabagging.
Yeah, I think that's enough for now, so let me hear it. What makes your faces turn red and your hands reach for something to turn into a lethal weapon?
