I was thinking last night about peoples various tastes in music from rock to classical to indi or whatever, but what songs do you find beautiful? Notice this is not a question about good music (for me songs by megadeath, metalica, rush, thousand foot krutch, etc) but songs you find beautiful. This isnt very well explained so heres 3 examples of what i mean.

(links are all to youtube)

Bring on the wonder - Susan Enan - <a href=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_5VzNr_okY>link

Rush - Dreamfall The longest Journey - <a href=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AThXpdzbHE
>link

Still alive - Mirror's Edge - link

Edit - Bringing some of my favourate suggestions to my front post, Thanks for all the brilliant suggestions everyone, keep them coming.

Brat'ja from Fullmetal Alchemist - <a href=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pC6FLjRTGxY&feature=related>link

Romance De Amor - <a href=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_p0dxEGvj8>link

Carnavalito Tango - <a href=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9mcS8UzQGA>link

I find most classical songs are nice and beautiful. But if you need a good one, try Greensleeves by Mozart, i like this song, i find it really nice.

Beautiful? The first song that comes to mind would be "The Great Gig in the Sky" by Pink Floyd because well...I can't explain it. But people who know it would understand, I'm sure.

"Flight to the Ford" by Howard Shore from the Fellowship of the Ring soundtrack is also fantastic. Its the song you hear when Arwen rescues Frodo after he is stabbed.

Odd. I was going to say the same thing.

Anyway, I'm going to have to say Classical Music. Specifically: Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Mozart, and Grieg.

I would say the music from my favourite film 'Perfume: story of a murderer'. In the scene where he meets laura and can smell her this orchestra plays that makes me cry every time.

Here's the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQY4HGud6yw

But for the actual scene from the movie itself http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehotqQvBZJU&feature=related

Barber's Adagio, Nimrod from Elgar's Enigma Variations, Nessun Dorma from Turandot, virtually anything played by the Rastrelli Cello Quartet, Beethoven's Eroica Symphony, Largo from the New World Symphony by Dvorak, E Lucevan Le Stelle...man, I could go on forever, and that's just the classical stuff! There is *so* much beautiful music out there! =)

Fur Elise, beautiful
This, and Moonlight Sonata. There are a lot of songs that seem beautiful to me, but I can never remember the names of the songs and the genres differ.

The soundtrack of Cowboy Bebop: The Movie has a few of those beauties that give me some teary eyes though, works every time I watch the flick.

"Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd is so poetic and unlike most of their other music, and I always wind up tearing up when I listen to it.

Also a lot of the musical score for the Final Fantasy series is beautiful to me.

Apart from the obvious classical stuff.

Dayvan Cowboy - Boards of Canada [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrBZeWjGjl8]

This Woman's Work - Kate Bush [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2aDldLOPt0] if this doesn't make you cry you're dead inside.

Suzanne - Leonard Cohen [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30egIKHT-pM]

I'll post more later.

Next would be Romance de Amor (aka Spanish Romance?). I found it through the Buck 65 song, Outskirts. Forgive the corneyness of the following clip:
