well i didnt drink the everclear im not insane like that. plus i didnt get soo drunk i puked, only had 1 molson 1 coors, and one shot of each of the liquors i mentioend. i was more or less "buzzed"KEM10 said:I drank Everclear when I was on a mission, cheapest alcohol that isn't bad wine. Also, your liver doesn't naturally produce the enzymes that breakdown alcohol properly until you've drank it a few times so if you try to go one for one with seasoned drinkers, you will get sick. But it does all come down to taste. If you like coffee, you should go for a darker beer (stout), if you aren't sure pick up a Summer Shanty from Leinenkugel. It isn't another American pale-ale but an actual wheat beer they double with some lemon. It is the beer if you're not sure you want beer.chaos order said:well u see the first time (and only) i drank molson canadian, coors, gin whisky(cinnamon tasting wasnt too bad but still tasted bad), vodka. the reason why i drank that much was because my friends said the same thing, that not all alcohol is the same, but really they were all bad.KEM10 said:There are different styles of beer though. First one I had was in a sweaty basement drinking mildly chilled PBR out of a plastic cup (I miss the high school punk scene) and it was like dirty water. I then had an amber, thought it tasted like rusty iron and chalk. Then I had a stout, and I was in bliss. After of few of those, you sample back down. I can drink PBR, operative word can, and wheat beers if I don't want something as heavy. However, I still cannot drink ambers.chaos order said:u see now thats still makes me wonder y ppl drink beer, i mean if it tastes bad the first time y continue? i mean feeling drunk if anything lowers ur inhibitions and makes u do things u wouldnt nornally, but everyine crosses the line to the point where they feel like puking and passing out. (and thats not fun)
I guess what I am trying to get at is. Just because you don't like Pepsi doesn't mean you don't like soda. And you can easily tell when you are passing that line for puking, it generally occurs one drink after you realize you can't keep balance or talk properly anymore.
well apparently my friends lack ur sense of self control, cause they drink tons of beer and other forms of liquor and take shot of evercelear (EVERCLEAR!!!)
If you dig on some fairly simple brewing like meads and such, or aren't really a fan of beer brewing, check out a recipe for Edworts Apfelwein. It's totally awesome, and super cheap to make.SacredHeretic said:LaCrosse's Pearl Street Brewery has a Rolled Oat Stout that I think is fantastic. You also can't go wrong with a Guinness or Leinie Honey Weiss. I'll drink IRA's Bitter Woman (Wonderfully bitter with fruit hints throughout) and New Glarus Fat Squirrel from time to time.
As far as home brewing I have a gallon batch of Mead that has just finished fermenting in my kitchen cupboard awaiting Thanksgiving dinner.
Young's Double Chocolate Stout will probably surprise you. You have to find the 22 oz bottles for the creaminess, though. Somehow, it's different when it's in the 12oz bottles or tall cans.Arachon said:Funny thing, I was in the actual Napa Valley, and drank a wondrous Amber Ale, at a microbrewery called Silverado.
Anyhow, I'm a big fan of Guinness, but I was wondering if anyone knew of something similar, that's well... not Guinness, I've tried a few Stouts from microbreweries, and whilst they were good, they were more in the style of say, Guinness Extra Stout, whilst I am looking for something akin to "regular" Guinness, with that creamy head (nom...).
No beer is worth $90 a bottle. I don't care how good it is, no beer is actually worth $90 a bottle.XinfiniteX said:Crown Ambassador - $90 a bottle of PURE WIN!

Chocolate Stout you say? Intriguing... Wonder if I can get a hold of it here in Sweden.Snake Plissken said:Young's Double Chocolate Stout will probably surprise you. You have to find the 22 oz bottles for the creaminess, though. Somehow, it's different when it's in the 12oz bottles or tall cans.
I believe it's British, but I'm sure if you have a decent place to find imports, you can probably get your hands on it. It's delicious. Very smooth and velvety. There are several examples of chocolate stouts, but this one is the best I've found and completely unlike any others.Arachon said:Chocolate Stout you say? Intriguing... Yeah, I checked, and it is available at Systembolaget (if you didn't know, we have a state monopoly on alcohol, so anything > 3.5% can only be bought at special stores called "Systembolaget"), however, I am too young to buy from there.Snake Plissken said:I believe it's British, but I'm sure if you have a decent place to find imports, you can probably get your hands on it.
