I was thinking of Mega Man. So that means Capcom

For me the top 3 characters that have to be in there are the original Mega Man, X, and Zero. Other characters that would be in there naturally would be Dante and his DMC brethren and essentially capcom's half of the roster from the Marvel vs. Capcom series.

There's no reason we can't claim the Marvel, SNK, Tatsunoko and Tekken characters that have been in the Capcom vs series.
And then we get Smash Bros controls.

Basically the greatest fighting games ever conceived.

I thought of Tomb Raider. It's owned by Crystal Dynamics, which gives us... Lara Croft, Kain and Gex.

That's fine.

However, if we add in the Eidos crew, we're now tossing Agent 47, JC Denton, Adam Jensen, Kane and Lynch, Rico Rodriguez, Garrett, the people from Timesplitters...

On the whole, a three-way battle royale between Lara Croft, Rico Rodriguez and Agent 47 would be freaking amazing.

I picked the Fifa Series so pointlessly overpaid footballers can give each other girly slaps in poorly animated games and each different team kit could be gated as a micro transaction and EA could charge more for arena's as they would be DLC, Oh god I can see them making this and it selling just because its football. *Screams* oh god the horror!!!!!!!

So really if I go for the top three I get space marines wearing masks and using guns (aside from the Warlock from Destiny which also uses magic), if I go for Myth you could always go for the Soulblighter for some interesting melee combat, or it you go for Oni you could have a very agile character.

I thought of the Yakuza series by Sega. So that's also going to include such classics as Border Break, Altered Beasts, Golden Axe, Ecco the Dolphin, House of the Dead, NiGHTS, Phantasy Star, Shenmue, Sakura Wars, Sonic the Hedgehog, Shinobi, Skies of Arcadia, Vectorman, Valkyria Chronicles, Virtua Fighter, and Virtual On.

My top 3 will include Kazuma Kiryu, Dark Falz, and a toss up between Temjin or G.

I thought of Panzer Dragoon (Saga specifically), made by Team Andromeda. It would be a bit easy to just go with the fact that they were a part of Sega but nonetheless, going by wikipedia, we still have them as being responsible for the aforementioned Panzer Dragoon games, Jet Set Radio [Future], Sega Worldwide Soccer and Mario & Sonic various Olympic games.

Given that Mario & Sonic would therefore be a no-brainer for inclusion, I'll pick an additional 3.

1 would have to be Azel and Atolm (the big black Dragoon from PDS) and well I've never played any of the other games so this is a bit tough. Surely Robotnik is in one of these Mario & Sonic games? If so, then Robotnik will have to be in there of course. And, um, some rollerblading graffiti artist I guess?

Maybe I should have though of another franchise, but I guess part of the fun was not knowing what was being asked here.

As far as I am aware the only games made by Polyphony have been the Gran Truismo games and one Tourist Trophy game.
There are no characters in any of these games.

So basically my fighting game is just going to be indestructible cars and bikes bouncing off of each other.

um...I guess a soldier representing each nation with power attacks like summoning a tank to run your opponent over or a squad of submachine gunners to spray the level. Could be interesting, would just take a whole lot of power attacks. Healing items would be different for each nation, tea for the british, vodka for the russians, the japanese player's power attack would summon a wave of kamikazes, Americans call in offshore bombardments, the british call in an SAS soldier who stabs the enemy in the back, so on and so forth.

I thought of the same thing. It would be pretty cool if they were to have not only the characters but the personas themselves as playable characters. Odin vs Shiva vs Kanji, I love to see that match up.
