Beginner's Luck

What instances of beginners luck have you ever had in a game? It can be anything from getting an incredibly awkward achievement in only a few minutes or killing someone who's outranks you threefold.

My most recent one is in RDR where I managed to get the Red Dead Rockstar achievement with my first kill in Free Roam.

My friends and I were waiting for a party to start, so we cracked open Halo 2. It was my first time playing and they were all hardcore gamers that played Halo 2 on legendary and such. I was scared shitless that I was gonna look bad and get decimated, but I ended up beating them all.

OT:I tend to have beginners luck with sports games a lot. The other day a friend brought round a football game to play. I hadn't played a football game in years and yet I destroyed him.

I remember when I gave my friend the controler to mirror's edge, and he pulled of a hard move and got an achievement that I hadn't managed to get. He was like "Hurr, I gots an achievements?"

I was like "NO MOAR MIRROR'S EDGE 4 YOU" although it was on my gamertag :[

EVERYONE plays Halo on legendary. It doesn't mean anything, and is the only difficulty where it's challenging, but still very much completable. Real men play Mythic.

OT: i have experience some beginers luck, i was at my friends house, and they wanted to play NHL 2010, i have never played a hockey game before so i was kinda lost, for some reason i wanted to play goalie mode, they told me it was kinda hard, i ended up winning the lil tournament that we set up.

Played Call of Duty 4 once, and only once. Knifed a guy who outranked me. All I could hear was, "Awwwww, lame." I proceeded to act like a giddy baby.

Also, first time my friend played halo 3 in matchmaking he managed to get a clean mongoose splatter, quite an awesome one at that, something I had been forced to try for hours and hours before succeeding to do.

The first time i played MW2 online at a friends place i earned the "All Pro" title (2 headshots with one bullet), got a killstreak of 14 and ended up first on the scoreboard. That was pure beginners luck since i have the game myself now, and i haven't ever played a game as good as i did that very first time. (yeah i know; never as good as a 14 killstreak? but i really suck so i'm already happy with my occasional 5-7 streak)

It's one of the easier achievements as it's a viral one.All you got to do is kill someone who has the achievement and it'll unlock.Anyone who then kills you will unlock it as well

My mate beat Nancy in Tekken 6 first time on hard I do believe. People who are aware of this boss in Tekken 6 will be drawn to the fact that the name means crap all, and you are in fact fighting a 9ft robot with about six or seven different attack patterns and a large health bar. Yet he beat it first time. How?!

It'll take me an eternity to get any of the mini-game related ones because I suck at them. I even suck at Poker and I consider myself fairly average at it in real life.

In my first ranked match of Halo 3, I got the match winning kill (game was tied) with a noscope sniper headshot on the last second of the game. I pretty much just randomly fired the gun, and a dude jumped in front of it on the other side of the map.
