Retort to 1) The reason why everyone does it for free is because for the longest time it was against the, end user license, to make anything with the game then sell with out blizzards consent. I don't know when this was changed but if you look in the back of you Warcraft 3 Raign of Chaos manual you will see that in section 3, part 3(iii) you can't use things made off the editor for sale or profit. I will say that the current one is a bit totalitarianistic, but we'll just have to see how it's enforced.

Retort to 2) Your still going to have your few friends and if you want to only play with them and no one else that's fine. Your not being forced to do anything different they are just making it easier for people that are more social then you and want this. Welcome to being the minority.

Retort to 3) Wasn't there this big problem with people for having no dedicated servers for MW2 a little while back. Now I know the RTS comunity wasn't crying out for DS but you can't argue against the fact that playing SC2 will be better/smoother/faster on a DS then P2P. It possibly one of the closest things to having LAN, which I think will be fantastic.

As far as WoW being a cash cow for blizzard it's a very true point. Now what blizzard gets from this is the ability to make the best possible game they can make with out worrying about the hard deadlines and financial contracts that smaller game companies do. It's easier for them to get more time to polish a product or work on rewriting the story till it's perfect and this is something you can't get when your working from a smaller company and are financed by a 3rd party. When your financed you have deadlines you can't easily push back and limits to your work because of costs.

Now the company on a the whole my be getting greedy but this development staff I truly believe, and this is coming from interviews and everything they have done, from pulling information from the community to releasing those fake battle reports to show the state of the game, are going to release the best possible game they can.

Retort to 4) Welcome to being a minority and with this your going to have to realize that if the majority of people are ok with paying a fee or having retarded amounts of adds then you get boned because your the minority, tough luck mate, can't make everyone happy all the time only most of them most of the time.

Retort to 5)

-Truthfully this may happen, or it may not. We just don't have enough information right now that proves this one way or another. There's information that proves that they can but just because you can doesn't mean it's going to happen. I mean I can go out cheat on my GF, run down a hobo with my car, and pickpocket people at the mall, this doesn't mean that I'm going to go out and do these things.

-It's the same in WoW and it isn't a problem. Realize that this is that small sacrifice so that when you get asshat in a random ladder game, or in a chat channel, that spams raciest/stupid remarks in game there will be someone there to step in and stop him. Also this another step against cheating and glitching. I feel it's a necessary evil.

-Realize that this whole escapist page is now downloaded to your computer. That add for sprint at the top of my page in now temporarily download to my computer; so making a point off of that is useless.

The spyware is so that the advertisers have better data on how their adds are doing. Also stated in your link you gave all of your personal information, you ip, the adds you saw, are protected.

-Stated before, your fine and are not going to have the MAN come in and spy in you.

-A little out of context and it a combination of the having admins monitor you for your protection and the information going to add companies so they can see how many eyes saw their product. Don't sound that bad coming from me now does it.

And I don't care that you were an old fan boy or not even one to start with. I personalty like most of their products new but I don't think that Blizzard is 'goodness incarnated' but I don't see them as the 'devil him self'. The games that I've played, WC3, D1&2, starcraft BW, they have all to me been great games. I would even classify WoW as a great hobby with game elements in it.

In the end I'm a realistic optimistic, From past experiences I know their product is most likely not going to suck but I don't think that it's going to be an angle that comes down from the sky to tickle my balls but everything that I've heard from people playing it at Bliz-con, this game is more then likely going to be a hit and BNet might change PC gaming forever again or become another Windows Live, we can only wait and see.

I just wished they would add in some fucking game masters more with better effects. I mean, we got a REALLY good order on the escapist cause of the admins. But in WC III, things are fucked up. I get called "Niggro" five times a day, without any improvements.
Most people get away with most part EVERYTHING there! And EVERYTHING included in the EVERYTHING genre.

I also don't appreciate the "buy maps" idea either. What a load of bullshit...

Sorry for getting all agitated, but really...
