Or you get stuck with a shitty ending because you were in between good and evil. :(
I had this happen to me with Bioshock. I messed up and killed one of the Little Sisters without meaning to. After that I made sure that I never did it again, but because of that 1 mistake...

It wasn't until I looked it up later to discover that I had to save all or save none...you could not have a mix. (I could have reloaded my game if I knew this earlier on, but I guess that's their way of making sure you replay it to see different endings.)

I tend to play the good sides more so than the evils. maybe I want ot be the hero in a bit of self projecting into the game, but most of the game where the moral choice engine is used, I find the evil choices a lot of the time are walking dangerously close ot the stupid choice as well. Well I could betray the guy who helps me and be a total prick but then lose all access to him and his side and you really get nothing out of being evil in this situation anyways...

So why bother?

I dont play Evil.

I play Sith 8)

And yes. Theres a big difference. Being a Sith doesnt mean your evil, it means you look out for 1# baby.

Let me put it this way.
I could save a young girl from a group of bandits, or i could let them rape, murder, and sell her body parts from money.

I would help her. Not because i want her to live, but because i want everything the bandits own. If shes lucky, i WONT follow through with what the bandits were planning to do to her.

Or, if i dont think i can win the fight, i'll just keep walking. Why risk my life? It would be evil of her to have me sacrifice myself, when she doesnt even know me, or know what important things i might have to do! Besides, if im alive, i might get to save someone else. ((for a reward of course))

But if the game is good enough you should want to play it again. They shouldn't pigonhole you into a shitty ending if you didn't go to all the way one way or the other.

alot of the time I feel being evil has no point in the contex of the story..OTHER than being an evil douche (like fallout 3)

like KOTOR...do I help thease despereate people? or fuck them up even further JUST for some money? no reason unless Im a sociopath

sure some games play with this, like infamous, at least being ajerk then makes sense, renegade shepard is just an ass

best example ive ever come across is fallout NV, aside form NCR vs Legion theres tons of stuff in between there is NO right or wrong, its up you to decide that

I try to do multiple plays, but I like to start with evil. Example: If I'm playing a game, I'd prefer to shoot a terrorist in the face before he executes someone than try to talk him out of it.
thats hardly evil...thats more get the job done, theres a REASON you shot the terrorist

as I just said most of the time I find "evil" means, "shoot the terrorist AND the hostage just because im a dick"
