Somewhere in the middle: MW2

Worst: Meh, I don't buy bad games, but if I had to... The Sims 3, for not being as easily modded as TS2, and the *&^% paid dlc...

Probably the best game I played this year is a tie between Borderlands and L4D2. Worst game would be Dissidia Final Fantasy...it was an ok fighter but the story was horrid.

Fable 2 and RE5 for Worst.

Worst...hmm, usually dont buy bad games but one game i was dissapointed by was S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl, bought it out of a bargain bin and was still unimpressed

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (PC) - but only because it sustains an excellent multiplayer (despite it's new limitations).

The best I've played this year: Assassin's Creed 2,Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Prototype, Left 4 Dead 2 (if the demo's anything to judge by)

The worst: Alone in the Dark and Fable 2

I presume you mean released in 2009, not played in 2009? The best would be Demon's Souls. Worst... I'm not really sure. Probably Prototype, but it was a decent game, not a bad one.
