I have yet to hear Sonic the Hedgehog voice acting in video games that I liked! I'm tellin' ya, get Jaleel White to reprise his role as Sonic, and they'd be taking a step in the right direction!!!

Best: VTM:Bloodlines, easily

Worst: many poorly translated and VOed JRPGs may apply here

Possibly the worst VO contrast in one game: Oblivion. Patrick Stewart awesomeness vs everything else.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned the Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver serieses. Good, good stuff. Pretty much anything Tony Jay or Jennifer Hale touches is golden, also.

It's hard coming up with something worse than RE. How about Captain America and the Avengers on the Genesis?
"You can't escape!"
"YOU will be the one escaping!"
This, except for the Avengers thing, haven't played that.

Mass Effect had outstanding voice acting.

Just to throw out a name of a great voice actor - John DiMaggio. End of story.

I don't know if they used her in the game version but Zhang Zhiyi on the CGI Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was the worst I have ever heard. She is a beautiful woman but she can't really speak English so why have her do voiceover work in English. Just imagine every Chinese tourists trying to get directions or assistance from you in the same monotone almost breathless voice. It is not Ms. (or is it Mrs.)Zhiyi fault, I couldn't speak Mandarin if my life depended on it, but her few lines were almost painful to hear. I am getting tired of all these animated or CGI movies throwing money at celebrities to do voice acting when they are clearly phoning it in. Wall-E had little voice acting or actual dialog but it was Pixars finest work in my mind. So in synopsis TMNT bad, Wall-E good.

I don't really pay attention to voice-acting, in rare occasions I do, IE: Patrick Steward in Oblivion, I know a lot of the characters had rehashed voices, but seriously, hearing him made me squeal with delight.
Liam Neeson in Fallout 3, holy crap allmighty. When I bought the game, I hadn't known much about it, but in the first few minutes, putting my ear to the speakers and squealing, "Is that LIAM NEESON OH GOD." Yeah really, he's awesome, just.. putting that out there.

For the worst voice acting; Dynasty warriors 3 would have to take the cake. Some of the stuff that I assume was supposed to be serious, was just made hilarious by the complete lack of emotion (or over emphasis of it) in the voice actors speaking. I know it was a game straight out of the east, but there were tons at the time that had far-better voice acting. Don't worry though, the dynasty warriors series continues to be one of my favorite series. And I have a creeping feeling that the game is starting to take itself less and less seriously XD

Banjo Kazooie has pretty terrible voice acting.
I hope you mean the 360 version (which I haven't tried) cause the 64 ones don't really have any voice acting and if you consider it voice acting then it was awesome! Mumbo Jumbo needs a gaming oscar equivalent and the dialogue was good too.

For the best: I dunno, Diablo 2 had some alright stuff but only in cutscenes so I don't know if that really counts, but Cain was pretty sweet.

But for the worst the award goes to: Two Worlds, easily the worst voice acting ever. It was like all the actors from bad fantasy movies together in one game.
