Excel saga, Black Lagoon, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, a couple I don't remember (I have BAD memory..), Naruto (yeah, so sue me for liking wizard-ninjas) and TTGL is good, but fawkin' A, it's not like they cross-bred No More Heroes, Batman Arkham Asylum and portal and then put it together people. Get over it.

I love Baccano. Its probably the most unique Anime out there, and so fun to watch.

Also Akikan was great for a laugh.

Needless is good too.

EDIT: As a kid, I also loved Dragonball Z and Tenchi Muyo.
The Big O was pretty interesting as well.

EDIT 2: Mangas I'd reccomend reading, but not watching are Gantz, (because its grim, VERY GRIM!!), and To Love Ru, (trust me, its veeerry embarassing to watch, (more so than akikan, but I would argue that Akikan is borderline acceptable!))

EDIT 3: The Manga that really needs to be made into an anime is Franken Fran!

My personal favorite is Tenshi no Tamago, a highly experimental film by Mamoru Oshii and Yoshitaka Amano, but The best anime ever made is probably Wings of Honeamise. It remains one of my favorite films of all time and achieves a level of artistry and characterization rarely seen. Honorable mentions must also be given to things like Uchuu Senkan Yamato (the original), Mononoke Hime, Macross DYRL, and Patlabor 2. Satoshi Kon's films are also ridiculously good, as are Mamoru Hosoda's. There's just so much that's been made over the years that it's really hard to include everything.

Still, I think Wings of Honeamise is probably the best.
