But yes: Elfen Lied's intro song is a winner in my opinion.

My favorite is Satsugai which is the opening for Detroit Metal City. True Japanese METAL ... well ... the Japanese equivalent of Metalokalypse but still!

Totally agreed! It's the only TV theme I have ever had on my mp3 player.

Well, I quite like the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni openings. Rei is kinda dull though.
And the Umineko no Naku Koro ni opening is good.

The higurashi ones were really good because they reflected the anime's atmosphere so well I think.

The anime is kick-ass though, it's a bit old but if you haven't seen it, I recomend it.

Ah finaly some dude with a better taste in ... anime openings. (Even though i don't really like your first choice - but the rest is all OK).

Gungrave -It's slick and calm and i don't know why... but cool

Then of course Ghost in the Shell, S.A.C (first and second one)

Also... i really don't like Hip-Hop (or whatever that is) but Samurai Champloo at least is different:

Baccano! opening is pretty good, a bit like cowboy bepop mind. Have to agree with the Elfen Lied, love the choral music in that. My personal favourite was the first Bleach opening.
