The announcement of an actual, 100% guaranteed release date for Half Life 3. Not Episode 3. HALF LIFE 3. At this point, it better be!

I got really excited when i heard about Fallout: New Vegas if that counts. But the way Valve hinted at Portal 2 recently and then announced was great.
Spore..demo galore and hyped beyond recognition. Which is ironic in a way because in the version we got there was nothing recognizable form the demo. I hate you EA. Great casual games, terrible execution.
I have never really heard a games release first hand as I don't keep to keep my eye out for them. Most of the time I find out is from friends or from sites such as this.

Same here. Epic games kept hinting at Gears of War 3 "We cannot say whether or not a new game in the Gears of war series will be announced shortly" and crap like that, when everyone knew that it would be.Onyx Oblivion said:

Blizzard are probably #1 at announcement hype like when they filled a stadium in Korea to announce Starcraft 2. Many people who played MMOs were talking about how they were going to move to the sacred holy land of WoW as soon as the game was announced and non stop until it was released years later.

OT: Probably Diablo 3, that was pretty cool. Another would be Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. You can't imagine how happy I was as a fan of the series that Infinity Ward was making the next one, and not Treyarch developing another terrible one. I'd actually reverted back to Call of Duty: 2 by that point.

That Warioland game. The Shake one on Youtube, that shook your whole screen apart. I've never even played it, but that was cute.
