That said, I love the Armoured Combat Suits from the Posleen Wars saga. Anything that'll let you survive detonating a high-yield tactical nuclear weapon by hand, the flight out to sea, and then the intervening time before someone comes and pulls your smoking torso and head from the water? A-Okay by me!
Plus, it's from a novel that's got Bun-Bun the Killer Mini-lop featured prominently on the front of a 200 foot battle tank. It's hard to get MORE badass than that.

I'm shocked that no one has mention the Varia Suit yet, or the Light Suit for that matter. Looks sleek, well protective, and it can even bio-genetically fuse with its user.
Well my vault of Lithuanian folk lore claims that our fingernails are reminders of the best armor. In the garden of eden, we were naked because we were covered in an indestructible, pretty much environmentally sealed, chitinous armor. When we fell from grace it was stripped from us allowing us to age, get sick, get hurt, etc, but were left with our fingernails as reminders of our most epic fail.
But I'm gonna have to disagree with that and say an Evangelion. You kinda wear it like armor, and it is pretty much an angel wearing armor, so you are wearing two suits of armor, one, maybe both, are alive and crave the destruction of existence. So yeah, an Eva is the best armor.
