I keep seeing adverts around that claim travian is one of the best browser games around but i just can't seem to get into it.
Is there any games you reccomend.
What are your favorites/what should be avoided etc.

I don't mind urban rivalz I just wish I could pay by phone from Ireland.

RuneScape hands down. When it comes to browser based, RS can't be beat. BTW, RS is the best compared to and only to other browser games.

You have to pay for the second chapter. But there is about a fortnight of content before then if you really milk it.

Hard... HArd. I'd say Urban Dead (http://www.urbandead.com/index.html) because :
1. You play a human in a zombie-ridden, quarantined city. *_*
2. If you die, you become a zombie, and get experience for munching chaps and infecting others :D
3. You move freely through the city, were every house and building is barricade-able, searchable, and much more.
4.The gameplay never force, but encourages people into an existing, extremely deep rivalry and war between Zombies and survivors.
5. Incredible user community.

The only reason Runescape's good is becase it only requires JAVA and doesn't need longer downloading. There is no reason to play Runescape if you like free Mmorpgs, as you're one .exe file away of a bunch of better ones.

Urban Dead is interesting. I played before, but there are better BBG (Browser Based Games). However I say that's the best in its class. A really good MMORTSG (Real-Time Strategy) would be Tribalwars.

I'm pretty sure we are exclusively discussing browser based games so this is irrelevant.

Well I like RS, but it often gets old, but maybe I'm just not into mmorphs. I have to say I like Territory War Online. It's good and free.

Well, the point of my post is to question why to play runescape. If I consider the concept of RS unoriginal, does not that give my post an expressed opinion that is relevant to the topic?

Urban Dead has all the innovative properties of drawing rectangles in MS Paint. I like the whole apocalypse thing they tried doing, but with no animation or anything to back it up, it kinda falls flat.

Runescape is good until the grinding drives you nuts. Inevitably, the quests will run out, and equally inevitably, you are going to find yourself either: Mining, Fishing, Cooking, or Woodcutting for weeks, maybe even months, in order to get the spare gold to buy armor or whatever. My sister was lvl. 68 before she finally gave up the ghost.

Forum Warz is fun... really, I mean it. The problem with it is that it's extremely finite; play the first chapter, and then you can buy the second.

Right now, I'm playing Nodiatis, a game with well-done illustrations, an innovative leveling system, a wide selection of avatars, and more classes than you can shake a stick at.

RuneScape. People try to compare it to WoW all the time, which I don't think is fair.
