First, use the wiki. It gives a good understanding of a lot of concepts, such as zergs, pvp'ers, usergroups (Feral Undead FTW *rawr* ) and more. There, you can get hold of a good group that represents what you want in the game (I was in one that focused mainly on joking in the radio and nursing the city onceTaerdin said:How does one get involved in this 'incredible user community'? When I come across people I can speak to them but usually either don't get a response back, or end up splitting from them due to a powerful need to progress in the game.Jepix said:Hard... HArd. I'd say Urban Dead (http://www.urbandead.com/index.html) because :
1. You play a human in a zombie-ridden, quarantined city. *_*
2. If you die, you become a zombie, and get experience for munching chaps and infecting others
3. You move freely through the city, were every house and building is barricade-able, searchable, and much more.
4.The gameplay never force, but encourages people into an existing, extremely deep rivalry and war between Zombies and survivors.
5. Incredible user community.
I really enjoy this game but I feel like theres more to it which I'm not getting out of it. Also supposedly malls are very good for gathering things... how am I supposed to find a mall? Am I just going to get eaten if I attempt to go to one? :S
Second: Understand that the comunication often takes place outside of the game, in group forums and msn. There is a lot of communication in game too, but only in certain radio frequencies and in certain places.
Third: A map of malton helps a lot, check were you are on the map and get a grip on where to go. (http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Suburb)
That map also indicate the ever changing activity in each "suburb", so you can stay away or get into action.
I could go on for ever about this game, but that would almost be oftopic. Send a message if you need more help. I'm a 21 zombie, keeping Pennyville clean from meatbags
