The full 6 minute Hellgate London trailer was pure awesome. It set the tone for a game that was never released.
hellgate did come out though, it was just a failure.

EDIT: It's also pretty hard to deny how incredible this Star Wars: TOR trailer was. I still enjoy it as cinematic short on it's own merits.

I second both of these and add my own:

None of them.
Gaming is an interactive medium.

Making CGI-trailers is not only manipulative (as if I was playing or looking at th' real game, you spod-bastards.) but it always, always lies or exaggerates about the experience.

Either replace trailers with crazy camera angles of your actual fucking game, or make it live-action or animated.

thats stupid, cgi is computer animated graphics, just like the games we play, and only a fool would rate a game based on the cgi trailer, they r used as flags, to get the spotlight on their game.

i pointed out in my original question that i was interested in hearing about your favorite trailer, despite how you feel about the game.

your point?

doesnt make the trailer itself bad

i hated Warhammer Mark Of Chaos and the game was nothing like the cgi trailers, but that doesnt make the trailers themselves any worse
