never really seen one i thought was great.a lot of average ones, but then again I've never read a comic book in my life. I would probably have to say dark knight.
I haven't seen Watchmen yet (blasphemy!), so I can't make a judgement, but it looks pretty damn epic 
V for Vendetta was good, I haven't yet seen Batman Begins or The Dark Knight, and I bought The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen today, special 'Definitive Edition'. I haven't seen From Hell, though I may at some point, and I've seen too many Marvel films to list. Overall, I'd reserve judgement personally until I've seen a few more of the ones on my list above that I've not yet seen, but at present my vote would have to go to TLOEG.
Alan Moore distances himself from the filmed adaptations of his works, with good reason, since they don't truly follow his comics, and he's severed all ties with DC after the way they've treated him and his collab. partners and friends over his comics and in some cases their films too, but at the same time, it's the filmed adaptations that have gotten me interested in his works, so that's got to be a plus for him. If it wasn't for V for Vendetta, Watchmen and TLOEG, I'd never have gotten interested in his works and wouldn't now be planning tosteal buy some of his comics.

I just realized something. Those were the last films of two great performers before their unfortunate deaths, Heath Ledger and Brandon Lee respectively. Interesting coincidence.

Batman Begins or dark knight for me. Dragonball (if it counts) just because I had so much fun watching it.
Usually (not all) the first movie for all comic based movies are good, it's the sequals that suck. I'm going to have to go with the first X-men or Constantine.
Definitely The Dark Knight, and X-Men 1. The second was pretty good, too -- that series went to shit in the third movie. I haven't seen Watchmen yet, though. People I know either loved it or hated it.
Alan Moore will want to kill me for this but V for Vendetta. Admittedly I never read th comic or indeed ANY comic but I just thought this movie was cool. Second is Sin City and third is Watchmen. Watchmen in particular I entered with no prior knowledge and I daresay it has sold me on the franchise.
