I'm a fan of 'tweeter and the monkey man' by the headstones. Not a fan of Bob dylans version. Not to mention 'sweet dreams' by manson.

I have a special playlist on my ipod of covers (because I have that kind of free time) and these are the ones I could listen to any time of the day...

Metallica: "Astronomy" (Blue Oyster Cult)
Five Finger Death Punch: "Bad Company" (Bad Company)
Static-X: "Burning Inside" (Ministry)
Pantera: "Cat Scratch Fever" (Ted Nugent)
Bullet For My Valentine: "Creeping Death" (Metallica)
Dio & Yngwie Malmsteen: "Dream On" (Aerosmith)
Austrian Death Machine: "Hell Bent For Leather" (Judas Priest)
Ozzy Osbourne: "In My Life" (The Beatles)
Pearl Jam: "Last Kiss" (?)
Aerosmith: "Love Me Two Times" (The Doors)
Audioslave: "Seven Nation Army" (The White Stripes)
Heart: "Stairway To Heaven" (Led Zepplin)
Glenn Campbell: "Times Like These" (Foo Fighters)
Ozzy Osbourne: "Working Class Hero" (John Lennon)

Disturbed's cover of Land of Confusion
A Perfect Circle's covers of both Imagine and People Are People
Manson's cover of Sweet Dreams
Bullet for my Valentine's cover of Sanitarium
While it's nowhere near being better than (or even as good as, really) the original, Megadeth's cover of Paranoid is pretty awesome.

Drowning Pool - Rebel Yell

A Static Lullaby - Toxic (originally Britney Spears)

I quite like Marilyn Manson - Tainted Love (Soft Cell)

And everyone who named a Disturbed song gets +1

Ah, yes, another good one.

They handled a cover of a relatively bad song quite well.

That was easily the best thing ever.

Incidentally, most of Children of Bodom's covers are decent. Dio and Yngwie do a pretty awesome cover of "Dream On". Uh - Machine Head's version of Hallowed Be Thy Name is pretty badass.

Sonata Arctica does a surprisingly decent cover of "The Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler, but I have to be in the mood for it.

All Along the Watchtower by Jimi
and ummmmm
everyone else who cover Bob Dylan's songs
Considers this and then thinks of
1) Red Hot Chili Peppers cover of Subterranean Homesick Blues
2) My Chemical Romances cover of Desolation Row

Hellllll nooooo!

But I think most covers by Nirvana, namely Lake of Fire were pretty kick-ass. But apparently liking Nirvana stopped being cool about five years ago...

John Lennon's cover of Ben E Kings Stand By Me. it's my all time favourite song and in my opinio it far suppasses the original.
