I remember that video from a while back.
I can't be bothered to watch it again, but I remember thinking he's overreacting.
I don't subscribe to grounding as a concept at all, and I really think it does more harm than good. As far as I can see, it and corporeal punishment only serve to make the child hostile towards its parents.
So no. I don't think he's the best dad ever.
From the impression I'm getting, he's not even giving his daughter an allowance.
What was it he did again? Ruined the computer and grounded her for three months for whining on facebook?
Edit: Oh no, that's for her last offence. The one referenced in the video earned her a grounding of potentially three years.
Teenagers whine and vent. Often without good justification. It's what they do. And if you have such a low tolerance for whining that you'd ground your daughter for three. fucking.months years. for that episode there, I don't really think you're all that fit to be raising one.

Well...we don't know how the kid acts. My gut is that the dad is over-reacting, but teenagers rebel...it's just part of what they do...and sometimes they do need a swift kick in the arse. I'm sure my own son will need one when he's older. My freinds are currently going through hell with their 19 year old...no job, no intention of getting one, doesn't lift a finger in the house, and fully expects free room and board forever because he knows his parents feel bad about not wanting to throw him out on the street.

Probably the whole "I'll use bullets to solve a problem". If he didn't want her to have the laptop then he could have given it away, or sold it, or done something normal with it.Easton Dark said:
