Tomb Raider 2 on release day for £3.99, didn't have any intentions of buying it at the time but at that price (thanks to someone labelling it wrong) I snapped it right up there and then.

I managed to buy the Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition brand new for 10 EUR.

Quite hilarious if you see how much they're going for on Amazon:

I got COD: Black Ops at it's midnight release for £32, whereas some people were having to pay £45. This was due in part to a employee discount, and because my place of work wasn't charging as much as other stores.

I also bought Black & White 2 for £30 in HMV, 5 minutes after spotting it in GAME for £45.

Damn, Bioshock for only $3? I can't believe that. For me all the games I didn't pay for when I was a child and Portal and TF2.

I got the Fallout 3: GOTY edition and [Prototype] (both new) for $23.48. I think that's a pretty good deal, though I haven't even touched [Prototype] yet. Fallout 3 is just too much good stuff.

Infamous 2, naruto US:2, mortal kombat, god of war 3 all for.... nothing, I used to work in a 2nd hand game shop, we could take games out for up to 2 weeks for free, those were my games of choice, best deal ever if you asked me, but some pesky lables ruined my chances for that to continue (long story, basically it ended up with me fired and 2 lables down) but best that was actually paid for quality wise would probably be DA:O still one of my best games to this day and that was only £30 for the game+awakening+all dlc, best bargain I have ever seen.

Well, I guess the best deal would actually be the "Welcome Back" gesture from the PSN which landed me inFamous and Little Big Planet for free...
But in terms of real transactions I once bought a preplayed copy of The Getaway for PS2 for $10, but the guy at Gamestop accidentally gave me The Getaway 2: Black Monday, which was a brand new game at the time. And I was one of the 10 people in the world who actually liked that game.
(And I should probably mention that I live in Europe and that a game easily costs $100-110 dollars on release date)

On second thought, reading this has convinced me I have never got a good deal on a game in my entire life.
I paid 30 bucks for it. 2 days ago. Preplayed. But to my defense I knew that was a horrible deal - I just had to take it home with me right away!

The Orange Box on Steam for around ?25/30. I forget how much I paid for it.
But I got a lot of playtime out of it.
Half Life 2: 30 hours. Played it twice
HL2 Ep 1: 10 hours.
HL2 Ep 2: 12 hours
TF2: 70+ hours
Portal: 50+ hours

Plus they were some of the best games I've ever played.

Witcher 2 for £5 from a mate.

Technically I didn't pay him for it I got a few lagers and a pizza when round at his house and he gave it me.

His PC couldn't run it, he's more of a console player so never bothers to upgrade his pc.

Portal 1 for free goes without saying. However...

I found Supreme Commander 1 in the Wal Mart bargain bin. For one dollar. Best deal I ever got.

I got a Sega Dreamcast w/four controllers and a VMU for $6.95 CAD (w/12% tax). A year earlier, I bought Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Star Fox: Assault, James Bond 007: NightFire (GameCube) and Star Wars: Battlefront (PC) for a total of $17 CAD. Awesome.

Bayonetta in Russia almost a week before the official release in the US and 20% cheaper than all the mediocre crap standing next to it. I thought it was a joke, but apparently, the clerks couldn't tell gold from dust...

when I went on my massive game buying fest (got 12 games) I got some pretty good deals. I think I got either Fallout 3 or Mass Effect for about £10, maybe less. Maybe it was even both of them. I got some pretty good deals either way
