Looking back in your life, what decision are you happiest about?

For me, it would be choosing to venture in the world of animation for a school project. This choice has led me to something worth pursuing and introduced me to great works of art.

Either that or using mechanical pencils.

Agreeing to go to the prom with my now-girlfriend.
Ever since that day, my life has been much better.
Joining this site is a distant second, I suppose.

Talking to the random, slightly strange girl that I seemed inexplicably drawn to. Still the best decision.

Also, I guess, to be good at school. Although that wasn't a choice in itself, there were many choices involved. No drugs, do my work, don't skip, etc.

The decision to stop watching tv (well most of the time) for the past four years. It's surprising how much more stuff I can get done without worrying about seeing a favorite show and also how I'm not as depressed from lack of bad news.

Choosing to study History at University instead of English. Best decision I ever made and I stick by it.
Not only is there a smaller workload, but I'm actually getting to study Politics along side it, so I get to study my two favorite subjects at the same time!

Plus that decision has pretty much changed my whole future and what I intend to do when I finish.

That... is a difficult choice. I could make a joke about how I decided chicken over fish; or how I became happier and heavier (which in my case is healthier) after deciding to give up after a couple years of vegetarianism. I could even tell you about the time when I decided to buy a particularly awful movie out of a bargain bin which turned out to be the most hilariously terrible movies I've ever seen.

In all seriousness it all comes down to far and away the best decision I made in my life. Many, many things led up to this that could be considered important in them leading to this but deciding the university I went to as my university of choice was the best decision I ever made. The fine arts program is incredible, I've had the great luck to study under professors who are SO passionate about what they do and who are really genuine, good people. On top of it being a good fit academically (if you consider drawing and painting academics) I also moved to a new city. I was able to really see who I stayed in contact with which allowed me to establish priorities in terms of contacts. I met wonderful people who made me who I am today. Most of all, though it was though meditation in the woods of Mount Royal that came to not necessarily understand my existence but accept it and develop a clear worldview that I feel is unlikely to change much in the foreseeable future. I am a happier person thanks to my choice in university, and it stands as the biggest life-defining decision in my life thus far. I am where I should be right now, I can say that with strong certainty.

I'm just 15, so its too early for me to tell.

Although a first might be starting play bass, which in turn, started
my love for music, and made me appreciate the musical world as a whole.

Going to HS in my home country. Even if it was only for one year. Probably the best year of my life so far.

One can really appreciate music more if he's a musician himself

Indeed. After playing a couple instruments, studying some music theory, and being able to apply some of it to music one listens to (like recognizing intervals) the whole experience becomes extremely enjoyable.

Agreed

Even if I still need to work out the progressions with my instrument in hand, it still makes
you appreciate what went through the artists head when he/she wrote it.

Which university is this?
It's Concordia University in Montreal (Canada). It's not prestigious, hard to get into or anything like that. Just happens to have a very good fine arts department and just happened to be a very good fit for me.
