Best DS games

Don't have that many DS games and I haven't really touched the poor thing in quite a long time, but of the games I've played on it two stand out:

Advance Wars: Dual Strike

Elite Beat Agents

Both of which I've probably sunk more time into than I dare even consider and both of which I've taken the excruciating time to beat multiple times on the hardest difficulties. But while I can understand my love of Advance Wars being the huge strategy nut I am, why I love Elite Beat Agents remains a mystery to this day. Personally I'm inclined there's got to be some sort of drug in the packaging, a voodoo curse, I don't know. I'm not even a fan of musical games and the biggest compliment I can give the games soundtrack is that I don't hate it, yet I've spent probably over a hundred hours on that game.

Everyone on this site needs to play professor layton at least once. It is simply something that anyone can enjoy. Good stories, great animation, and memorable characters make all three winners. Mario kart is also probably the best multiplayer DS game out there.

My favorites are:

The World Ends With You - Happy to see this already mentioned several times, this is definitely my favorite DS game and probably my favorite game of the last so many years)
Chrono Trigger - A classic, my favorite SNES game in handheld form.
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Sky
Pokemon - Just about any version, SoulSiver and White are my favorites)
Elite Beat Agents
The Professor Layton series - The third one (Professor Layton and the Unwound Future/Last Time Travel) is my favorite but you should start with the first (Professor Layton and the Curious Village)

Definitely go for Pokemon White, or better yet, Heart Gold/Soul Silver. IMO HG/SS are a bit better than B/W because you've got more to do post story. You can keep catching pokemon, challenge the Kanto gyms and even strive to catch just about every major legendary pokemon about. PLus if you've got a mate with it, wi-fi battles are just genius, especially the double battle co-op.
After you've played through HG/SS, then I'd recommend playing B/W. It just feels like a natural advancement of the series, with better battles animaion and pacing, different stuff to do and a much more involving story. Plus, if you've got a friend's DS, you can trade all your HG/SS pokemon to B/W post story.

All three Castlevania titles are totally wonderful, and probably the best games in the series.

And Extra Credits was probably right that The World Ends with You is the best thing Square has put out in the past, well, entire console generation.

A lot of good games already suggested, but it makes me sad that no-one has mentioned one of my favourite DS games yet: The Dark Spire. It's a first person dungeon crawler, a bit like Etrian Odyssey, but the style is more traditional WRPG, while Etrian odyssey is more JRPG.

Hello, i'm looking for some good DS games to play all the ones i have are crap :S your help would be well appreciated :>

There are many good DS games, so it really depends on what you like.
Puzzles/Adventure? Try the Prof. Layton series, 999, Ghost Trick, or either of the Zeldas. Okamiden is good too.

JRPGs? TWEWY and Chrono Trigger are outstanding even if JRPGs are not your main interest. The SMT series has a few different entries on the system as well. The only North American release of Final Fantasy III (not VI) is also on the DS. It's a bit basic, but it plays well enough. Have a look at Dragon Quest, too, if you're really into the genre.

Strategy? Knights in the Nightmare is supposed to be very good.
