Like you didn't see this coming. The idea came from the opposite thread, and I had the perfect end in my head. So go ahead. Post your favorite end to a CD.

Mine:
Great atmosphere, epic climax at the end, and the background noise gets really freaky if you turn up the volume.

Knights of Cydonia, at the end of Muse's Black Holes & Revelations. One of their best.

So be it...

A fantastic ending to a superb "rock opera."

Oh goody, another chance to mention Electric Wizard!

Yeah, the title track at the end of Dopethrone is one of their best songs, it just ends the album so well.

Honourable mention goes to Kyuss, on their album Welcome to Sky Valley. After one of the best stoner rock songs ever made (Whitewater) they segue into this demented organ/doo-wop song about oral sex.

You can almost smell the marijuana smoke from that recording.
You really love Electric Wizard, don't you?

Demon Days from the Gorillaz album by the same name.. with a CD full of hip hop and rock, just to be ended with a calm and beautiful song.. it was powerful

In the End ( O resplendent light) by David Crowder* Band. It connects the last track to the first track instrumentally making all songs on the cd connect in a circle... no small feat.

Demise of Time, by Pestilence.

The entire Spheres album was justifiably epic. I do mean epic in the meaning of the word, too. It was amazing how much they changed their style on that album.

Rain Dogs by Tom Waits
'Anywhere I Hang My Head' sums up the whole album really well, besides having an amazing brass band dissolve.

Excellent choice. I got the pleasure to see Mr. Waits live last summer in New Orleans... What a guy. One experience I'm not gonna forget any time soon. :)

OT: Probably won't appeal to the tastes of most, but my one of my favorites was "Borrowed Time" by A Fine Frenzy on their debut album. Ethereal, simple, and it resonates strongly with my philosophies on life.

And in a totally different direction, "Reset" by Mute Math is phenomenal. Go on a walk with this blasting in your headphones... Wow. It's catharsis. And it's all KINDS of amazing in concert.
