So I was reading PlayStation Official Magazine - Australia (POMA from now on) when i came across a particularly tasty little tidbit regarding Hideki Kamiya.

"I am bald, but I am not gay." Platinum Games' Hideki Kamiya answers a question nobody was asking, moments after speaking out against Ninja Gaiden's Tomonobu Itagaki, calling him an "idiot" for assuming huge breasts are erotic.

This was when my love was affirmed.

This is the man responsible for God Hand, Okami and Bayonetta.

And here he is doing more awesome.

I have so much respect for this man.

So, firstly, who do you think is pure awesome and why, secondly, discuss the wonder of Hideki with me.

Well, you have to remember that God Hand had all the females wearing either bondage leather or extreme cleavage-creating tight shirts. The fact that God Hand was obviously a parody of almost every aspect of gaming and gaming culture doesn't really take away from the hilarious sexualization of the females in that game.

Itagaki said something stupid, to be sure, but I have to consider that old saying:

"People in glass houses shouldn't Unleash and pull a roulette Double Shaolin on the creator of a very similarly anachronistic game series."

The fact that God Hand was obviously a parody of almost every aspect of gaming and gaming culture doesn't really take away from the hilarious sexualization of the females in that game.

I said that. But Itagaki could use the same defense. Ninja Gaiden is about a futuristic spandex-wearing ninja fighting fat dudes on top of zeppelins and firing anti-tank ARROWS at expensive, top-of-the-line military hardware.

All I'm saying is that both games portray their females as sex objects, and both of them could be considered parodies. I know common gamer perception is that NG considers itself a "serious" game, but I know the game only works for me personally if I just assume this is all a big joke. You don't create a story this horrible on purpose and not know at what point you're just pulling stuff out of your butt because it'll make the fights more awesome.

Also, both games have some very overt bondage/masochism themes.

In interviews for Sigma 2, he said, "Every man likes boobs".

Sure it's a joke, but not entirely, only half so... perhaps it is greater because of this... [small]mumble mumble...[/small]

God, I hate Japan. This is why people think that we're just a bunch of feral idiots.

Oh, come off it. Games like Okami...

Mario and Zelda, even. All Japanese, not steeped in this oh-so-weird culture that some Japanese entities present... kinda like how many gay people wear mascara.
